Ever think about packing it in?

I gotta admit I'm pretty fed up with my cars, and it has been in my head to sell out everything, and buy one nice car I can drive every day. I have developed a crush on the new Charger, and the thoughts of running down Ricers and Eurotrashers in a Hemi Charger puts a big smile on my puss. It is prolly just a pipe dream though. How many people would be interested in an AMX/Mustang/Camaro with unstable bob gable's name on the door?

I always think about calling it quits, but then I take a look at it from a financial stand point, and almost want to cry at the amout of money I would lose.

i think about it once in a while, mostly this time of the year.... the car starts to sit as the cold weather comes. But then i just start it up and listen and smell the rich exhaust and i am hooked again! :-D

camaro2you 09-21-2006 07:57 PM

I think about it all the time, but that's just because i dont have my licsense yet.

of course, then I drive it

Bob, I'd be more interested in your regal to be honest.

I gotta get my arse in gear and finish up my front end work. I won't have much luck selling that car with it up on jackstands n' with no front end in it.

Ian 09-21-2006 08:44 PM

I'll buy it like that.

bad64chevelle 09-21-2006 08:51 PM

Bob, there were MANY times I have thought about tossing the towel in, and like said before it was usually this time of year and whenever I ran outta money :-) But really bob your AMX is a sweet car, I would be really upset to see it go. I think once ya get the Regal on the road and get it all squared away you may get a good look at whether or not you really wanna sell the car. Its really frustrating, but keep it together and you will be happy!

Brando56894 09-21-2006 09:17 PM

ive never thought of selling my (first) bird, the thought of selling this one pops in my occasionally since its definately not like my old one and theres chips and dings and orange peel in alot of places...

Here's one for ya UBG, I just talked to the guy who bought my 96SS tonight. He loves the car and just wanted to ask me a few questions about the stereo. I regret selling that car. Last year I talked to the guy that bought my 454SS pickup and he still loved the truck and he was telling me about the changes he did to the truck to put it back to stock. I miss that truck(bit not the gas mileage). 2 years ago I talked to the guy who bought my 93 Indy Pace Car. He loved the car and kept talking about all the attention it got. He just wanted to ask a question about the alarm. I miss that car too! So now I'm sitting here thinking I sold 3 of the best running and driving vehicles I ever had! You already sold that AMX once and you know how you felt about it. Keep the AMX, it's pretty unique. Sell the Regal and get a hemi Charger! Personally, I have a real hard time buying something new because I know it will lose so much value right away. But I'm not the best person to talk to about new vehicles since the 96 was the latest year vehicle I have ever owned! I drive a 1988 Toyota every day and to me that's modern!

bitchincamaro 09-21-2006 09:46 PM

i have a serious love/hate relationship with my truck and my camaro, but for some reason i havent sold either of them yet. right now i seem to be on kick with my truck. i usually treat it like a work truck, but i just got some new tires and wheels, (for a case of guinness) and for some reason my truck kicks ass again. i think i see a clutch, a small lift and some exhuast coming in the near future.

baddest434 09-21-2006 09:49 PM

every once in a while i get that feeling. like when everything that i have to buy cost thousands not hundreds anymore. but no way i'll never give this up. my wifes cool with me buying whatever i need even though she "don't know why you need that" plus i have way to much invested in it already. maybe i'll be buried in it someday:lol:

unstable bob gable 09-21-2006 09:54 PM

Yeah, I guess it would be a lose/lose situation to try and get out now. I really need to get that T-Type back together, then maybe I'll just sell it to have one less project on my hands.

it's got to be pretty hard to have 2-3 projects going at 1 time. i'd definately sell 1 project to finish another

BigAls87Z28 09-21-2006 10:24 PM

Every day I go to work.....

BonzoHansen 09-22-2006 08:23 AM

Your just having a rough spot UBG. You'll get through it. If you do have too many projects, by all means unload one. One project in full gear is better than 2 not. Ask me.

Besides, at least wait for the new Camaro. It'll waste anything the dodge boys make. :)

Rich189 09-22-2006 09:58 AM

you cant sell the mustang bob.... as for that t type id be interested as well and thats not even knowing the details :P

chevyt454 09-22-2006 11:53 AM

I think about it until I go to a car show & hear a classic muscle car rumble. That sound CANNOT be duplicated!

LS1Hawk 09-22-2006 12:05 PM

I think about it every month when I have to send my loan payment in  and wonder do I really need an extra car that I only drive on weekends and in good weather? But my love for the car always wins out. And it's really only something guys like us understand. My friends that aren't into cars can't understand and find no rationale in it whatsoever. Maybe one day it will change and I'll sell... maybe if i see something else, or absolutely need the money. But UBG, I say definitely keep your AMX. Those cars are rare and hard to come by!

NJSPEEDER 09-22-2006 06:38 PM

if you sold out and bought a hemi charger/challenger/300 you would wnd up more pissed at yourself than you ever thought possible.
you would go from the amx to a car that half of the eurotrash and ricers that you hate could dump on. 4600lbs of under performing crap doesn't replace what you have

angin52 09-23-2006 09:27 AM

i quit drag racing to go scuba diving, then i quit diving to go flying airplanes(and you think cars are expensive). then i just went fishing, now i'm back to drag racing. every time i get out it pulls me back in. help me

unstable bob gable 09-23-2006 04:54 PM

While I was out before I swear to God I musta seen at least 4 Chargers within a couple of hours. Heaven help me!

Sphinx 09-25-2006 02:31 PM

I actually was just thinking about it. My car is always on ramps. But i buy used camaros so, beggers cant be choosers. It also doesn't help that i expect alot out of my car, and i run it hard. But ****, somedays i love it, some days i hate it.

ar0ck 09-25-2006 03:24 PM
