atf capacity of th700r4 with 9 inch convertor
 

what is the capacity of a th700r4 with a 9 inch convertor?? i have an additional external oil cooler on it also. I should be putting my trans in this sat if everything goes as planned. thanks guys!!

If it's completely drained, it should take 11-12 quarts to fill it up. Give or take a bit due to the smaller converter, but additional volume for the cooler and lines.

ok thats what i thought. i figured 10.5 since last time i think it took a little over 11 with a 10" convertor

Sounds good....I would start with 10 or 10.5 and see where it is from there. At that point it should have more than enough to prevent damage while you let it warm up a bit and shift it through the gears in the garage....
