i saw that commercial too. it is a car that they haven't released yet. just what we need, some hammerhead that can't drive anyway taking his hands off the wheel when i am trying to beat him to a parking spot. this could get interesting.

I don't think it parallel park itself, but it has some sort of park assist system that works with the rear view camera to "guide" you into a parking spot based on steering angle and vehicle position.

MB has the same kind of thing on the S-Class and Maybach

just about to say that...the parktronic feature in the s-class uses a rear camera and can plot out the vehicles current path in a nutshell...not to mention the beeps that get louder and faster when approaching an object. the cooler thing is distronic but we arent talking about benz's here so ill shut up.

i would assume lexus is something similar...i know their mirrors move when doing parking maneuvers, so now i assume theyre going a little more in depth.

its old technology, i've seen it in a magazine before. it doesnt work unless your car is at a certain spot next to the car beside you. eh whatever it doesnt strike my fancy. i bet if i had it, i wouldnt use it

I can't speak on the Lexus system, but in the benz...it's actually pretty good, and user friendly. Basically for parallel parking, you just line up the "guides" on the screen......and voila, you're in the spot and it's easy as pie. It actually has two modes, parallel parking, and normal parking. both works quite well.

lol wonder if you can take your driving test in one?

BonzoHansen 10-23-2006 07:51 PM

C&D said it works good, except it takes longer to set it up on the dashboard screen then it does to pp yourself.
