pics of a truck i worked on.

on the cover of this months minitruckin is a truck i worked on this summer. my buddy has a fab shop in tennesee and asked for my help to get the body work done on a truck for a show in lousiville ky, and get shot for the cover. we had two weeks to do a 4 week job. many sleepless nights. i can honestly say it was the hardest thing i ever did, physically and mentally. its a under construction issue, so the truck isnt finished. here are some pics:

this was earlier this summer, but was pretty much how the truck looked before we started working on it. bare metal.

bodywork, chassis, in sealer, and how it looked for the cover.

JL8Jeff 11-07-2006 12:44 PM

Dam, that's some cool work. How high does the body lift up when it's time to drive it?

Tru2Chevy 11-07-2006 01:30 PM

Pretty sweet looking stuff!

he metal finished the frame when he boxed it in, so there isnt alot of body filler in it. the first pic was what it looked like when i started on it. it was then sprayed with a rust defender i think it was called. its pretty much a spray filler/ high build primer. the paint is house of kolor kosmic silver. the kid who owns the shop does excellent work.

here's a pic of the blazer at full ride height:

blazer? headlights scream explorer....

bitchincamaro 11-07-2006 01:48 PM

its actually a toyota tacoma front end grafted on. its a 95 or 96 blazer. it also has early 60's falcon dash in it. you should just check the magazine out for the specs, i honestly dont know them all. i just helped him make the car smooth.

I was just assuming that it wasn't a factory-style nose, as the side windows are definitely Blazer....

- Justin

::edit:: I guess I was partially right. It's a factory style nose, just not GM.

baddest434 11-07-2006 02:38 PM

NJSPEEDER 11-07-2006 03:21 PM

do you have more pics of the rear suspension on that blazer? it looks like a weird hand link system, but very compact.
details please. :)

bad64chevelle 11-07-2006 03:48 PM

Looks great Frank! Like Tim said any more pics?

enRo 11-07-2006 04:00 PM

I think a very thin-spaced billet grill will put the perfect touch on that front end.

camaro2you 11-07-2006 04:13 PM
