2nd time out with car

Went to the track on Friday the 10th and got in 2 more passes at Atco. Car still went to the right on both passes. Launched the car at only 400rpms on both runs as I am still getting used to the car. First pass for the night the car ran better as I drove it a little harder than the first pass from last Saturday. The numbers for that run were 1.62 @ 60ft. 7.17 @102mph at the 1/8th and 10.94 @ 133.70mph at the 1/4. Pretty good since it picked up 31mph out the back. On the next run we made a slight spring adjustment out back but the car still moved right on the launch. The track was a little slippery down low. Here are the numbers for that run. 1.70 @ 60ft. 6.88 @ 106mph at the 1/8th and 10.48 @ 137.33mph at the 1/4. This is a decent run but the car still did not et the way it should but that was expected.

I still need to be driving better and the car still is moving to the right on the launch and on the 1-2 shift. I also need to be leaving the line somewhere around 5500-6500rpm. I still have not done anything with the motor to dial that in any better than just having it set up being really safe. At least this will keep me busy doing something trying to figure it out.
I just would like to thank ESP198 and 1qwikbird for the help again. Also a big thanks for Bobby Bammann coming out to help me at the track. If anybody is looking to get a motor done this is the man for the job as he will not only help with the motor but he will come down to the track and help you out there as well.
Oh and when the car goes over 140mph we will see about the haircut for me.

what shocks and spring rate are you running?
with that kind of trap speed there is a ton more in it. should be able to push 9's out of it easy

I have a set of Koni's up front and QA1 out back. They are both single adjustable setups. The springs up front are AFCO 225lbs. and stock height the rear springs are Hypercoil 5 diameter springs with 100lbs. and 13 inch height. I have it setup so I can adjust the spring heights similar to a coil over with the weight jack screws under the rear springs. I might just need to put in a good anti-roll bar in the car over the winter. I am going to call BMR up tomorrow and pick there brains for a little information. If this was a 4 link car it would be a easier for me to get it set. Hopefully get another Friday with some decent temps and I will take another Friday as I few left to burn.

Just look at the 60' times in his first post JR....that's why he's not in the 9s yet.

I'm guessing this is still a stock-style suspension?

Yup I was there with the car that is in my avatar. All you guys should have stopped by my trailer or talked to me in the lanes. If you see me at the track and need to borrow something just ask.
The car is a stock suspension setup. I was out just testing the car again sorting it out. The only thing hurting the car is the lack of an anti-roll bar. This why it is going hard right off the launch. Just thought I could get away with out one for now but I guess not. So tomorrow it is a phone call to Ed Quay to schedule him to put one in it. He did such a great job with the cage that it is no brainer for him to do it. So I am pretty much done for the year. I will also be putting in a new set of gears this winter as the 4.56's are to much for the car right now. It was going off the rev limiter in the traps at 7800rpm. Need to get a few more mph's out of it so in go the 4.30's. That should get me that 145mph around 7600rpm.

Jr. the combo is a Bammann Racing Engines N/A small block with 23 degree brodix -10 heads. Jesel offset rockers. Single carb 4150 style 1000cfm. Victor intake ported to match the heads. 2inch headers with 4inch collectors. An old pro-shifted Doug Nash 5 speed with a Ram adjustable clutch. Ed Quay chromoly chassis. Moser 12 bolt with all the good stuff. PA racing K member and A-arms, custom BMR torque arm. BMR LCA's and panhard bar all chromoly with rod ends. On a 275 Mickey Drag Radial tire.

Please last time I remember whooping you by .5 seconds and 3mph in a certain mustang. I can't help it that your big head and being 8 feet tall don't fit in a normal persons' car. I am throwing the challenge out now for you and Chris, one day each driver in the same car at the track to see who the man is. One day in mine at the strip, one day in yours at an autocross, and Chris can decide where the one day in his is at. I don't want to hear that neither one of you fit in my car either.
