well, its not really broke, and its probably not quite unbreakable.. but my poor jeep is ill. its got a rod knock, exhaust leak and some otehr various issues that need to be addressed. now im driving one of our crown vics that pop got at a police auction... its a decent piece i must say.. i've never been in something so smooth at 90+ mph.. power everything, i can't complain.

bad64chevelle 11-13-2006 11:43 PM

Tru2Chevy 11-14-2006 08:35 AM

Heh...you are the Queen.

I drove my 2.8 Camaro for 6 months with a rod knock. Put almost 6k miles on it with the #4 rod bouncing on the crank. :)

Jeeps are easy to break, broke mine in 10000 miles of it being new. while owning a jeep i learned it stood for Just Empty Every Pocket. cause theyre money pits.

bad64chevelle 11-14-2006 09:20 AM

I dont know, every single one my dad owned, and my buddies have owned have been amazing vehicles. My buddys is going on 300k and still runs great! Mine was not a money pit, the thing was a beast and I miss it every day, I should of never sold it to buy the Camaro.

My 03 Jeep broke so much, I traded it in within a year. It was fun to go off roading when it was running.

misterjuice 11-14-2006 11:41 AM

weird....i had a 2000 Cherokee........and that thing was damn near indestructible...and unstoppable. went through 3 to 4 feet of snow like it was nothing, in low range of couse....it was great.

Ian 11-14-2006 12:23 PM

:werd:

my jeep is still kickin'

Mike 11-14-2006 01:16 PM

i broke my 4.0 :) then once it got fixed, i promptly put it on its roof

79CamaroDiva 11-14-2006 01:33 PM

i've put almost 100k miles on this thing since i've had it, which isn't even 5 years yet. the jeep owes me nothing, and its not exactly broke, just needs some attention before it really does break. im sure it will live on.

Really. I thought Jeeps had crap trannies, poor wiring and other issues, but all them 4.0L motors do is run forever and leak oil, mostly from the valve cover. Congrats on a job well done.

Just get a new motor, I can’t imagine it is hard to change.

V 11-14-2006 02:00 PM

my sis's 95 grand cheerokee laredo had 220k miles when she sold it for $2000, but the trans was rebuilt once, exhaust replaced for the most part. those inline 6's go for a long time.

qwikz28 11-14-2006 02:05 PM

ugh... its a shame they dont make those inline 6s anymore... all we get now is the stupid 4.0 liter v6

I never ever had any problems with mine, except the rear main seal leaked pretty good. I dont know why but the thing was pretty damn quick too ALOT more so than my buddies with 4.0s.

79CamaroDiva 11-14-2006 06:52 PM

well, since this is the firstp problems im having with it aside from shocks, i can't complain. its sitting at 248k right now, never any problems with trans or oil leaks, in fact, i barely ever need to add oil to it between oil changes at all. a half a quart, maybe.

Ian 11-14-2006 07:22 PM

I dont even check the oil in my 4.0

I recently out that 15,000 mile mobil one in there and I've gone about 6K on it so far and I havent checked it yet. still runs so I'm happy. 177K and climbing!
