New Speakers/woofer
ok here it goes, i wanna get some new speakers for my car since i think they sound horrible compared to the monsoon system i had in my last firebird. i wouldnt mind having the monsoon setup again (2 in the doors, 2 in the back seats and 2 in the trunk) im also thinkin about putting a sub woofer in the trunk like jake did but that can wait if necessary. i know absolutely nothing about audio equipment and im not lookin to spend an insane amount of money (around $1-300) what do you guys think i should go with?

For that price range, I say grab an average aftermarket headunit and 2 new speakers for the doors. Add the 2 in the backseats later when you can afford them.

I'm pretty sure the door and backseat speakers are 6.5" round. I think the rear speakers in the monsoon setup were 4". - Justin |
how about just a head unit and two pairs of high quality infinity speakers or something... if you want more, you can build up from there (amps and subs)
FORGET ABOUT THE 4" SPEAKERS IN THE TRUNK. THEY ARE AS USELESS AS KASEY |
All you need is door speakers, and a sub if you want. Jake proves this, Paul proves this, and I've fooled enough people with mine

Get yourself some good front and rear speakers and a midrange headunit. I have Cerwin Vegas in the front and Pioneer 3 ways in the rear of my car and they sound great. Later on save up for an amp and a sub or two. You can make up for a lower powered/quality headunit with a good amp later down the road if necessary. There are lots of good deals on Ebay if you take the time to do your research. I did my entire system for about $650 and I love it. That was with a very expensive headunit that I bought simply to spice up the inside of the car.

so it seems like this is gonna be a long process for me i already have too many parts on my Christmas list as it is
|
If it's something you have to do over time either wait until you have all the parts to do the install or run all of your wiring at once and leave the loose ends.
|
u can do just the fronts or rears and do the rest as u go n they install in 30 min 2 n hour wit the wiring
