My old 10bolt pics inside!

Well i finally took the cover off of the old 10bolt that i broke back in april-
my ring and pinion is fine, lol

the spider gears are all f'd up, among other things.

It kinda looks like somebody dropped a handgrenade in there and tightened the diff cover down

i pulled the cover off and dumped it out, parts and springs and stuff came out into the drain pan

I'm in the same boat, I give him a year maybe less with all his off track stuff. I figure a year on my rebuild.

NJSPEEDER 01-02-2007 04:30 PM

i am giving him 3 months. figure some time in march the weather will break and he will lose all will to "make it last" then BLAMO!!!!!!!

lol

no way in hell the new ten bolt lasts more than 6 months. 3 months, like tim said, is probably pretty close.

00sierra 01-02-2007 10:16 PM

nice job, at least you had fun doing it

I have a couple coffee cans full of broken 10-bolt parts, one for each rear I blew!!!

I always had a poblem using ford items in my chevy even if its a 9 inch. Imo Id rather go with a 12 bolt.
