I dont know of any tranny guys in that Area. I am not sure if a friend of mine still works for Pine Belt Chevrolet or not. Marty is the best transmission guy I ever worked with. You can call and ask for Marty. Just ask him if he worked for Reynolds in Flemington. If so he is the Guy. He should answer your questions.
As far as you issue. There are a lot of valve body and seperator plate issues on 98 and 99s. If a shift kit comes with a new seperator plate and the solenoids are all good just have a trans shop check it and install one. They are not too hard to install. You need a clean place and someone with a little experiance.

well the trans is in a blazer, ive read that the pwm valve gets worm quickly in these trannys and then u loose pressure to the converter , i have a converter that lock and unlocks to much at to low a speed. transgo makes a fix shift kit for these trannys and fro what ive read on truck forums its a really good fix. i just wanna confirm it with a good tranny guy and find out how much it is to get installed because i know the valve bodys gotto come out.

Tell 'em unstable bob gable sent ya. They have done at least 4 trannies for me the past few years, and I swear by 'em.

Top notch work. Eric rebuilt the transaxle in my GTP and it's rockin. My only complaint is that he blew through an EZ-Pass lane while testing and I got hit with a fine

I had the valve body update done on mine at Cottman in Freehold and it did fix the problem (I was getting a P1870 code and failed inspection for it). I think it cost around $400 including the Sonnax kit and labor.

well i had the transgo kit installed w/ a new separator plate and it fixed my highway problem but i still am locking up way to early. it locks at around 35 and bogs it down. gotta figure out what else to do, maybe a tuning issue i wonder who can tune this truck

Did you have a upgraded Power Valve or TCC Regulator valve kit installed along with the Transgo kit??
I know the Transgo kit sometimes require's a PCM edit or change to the shifting settings because the 4L60E's shift timing is controlled by the PCM and preset by the programing..
And even though the kit is installed in the tranny it doesnt always work how it should.
It even states Computer strategy may be required in the Transgo Paperwork.
Same with the Torque Management System sometimes picks up on the firmer shifts and sometimes detect's it as a problem and turns the line pressure down.
The F-bodys arent affected by this, but alot of the other 1998 and newer Gm's are.
I would try emailing Dynotech
Eric did some rework on my transmission their really good with the 4L60e's
