Engine swap pics

Making some headway fianlly. Got the old engine down to pretty much the longblock. Everything looks good so far except the #2 intake lifter might be collapsed but there was no metal in the oil or filter. Got alot of stuff on the old engine but like a dope I forgot to order knock sensors so i am going to have to wait on the intake until Friday. Also found time to put the deep pan on the trans. I also have to do a little work with the plug wires since the nology ones have to be so long to work right, they get right on the headers in a couple spots, but easy enough to fix. Here are some shots of what is done so far

Nice... Not to be a dumb ass but why did you go with the Nology wires?

An experiment really, they have a capacitor in them that really cranks up the spark. I used them on alot of the cars at the shop with very good results so I figured what the hell?

Batman 01-26-2007 06:39 AM

New engine is a 5.7, trickflow heads. Old engine is a 5.7 with cnc ported/hand blended 853 heads

Well I filled it up with oil today to prime it and to my dismay it all poured right back out the bottom. Took a peak underneath and there is a crack in the oil pan . Not exactly sure how that happened but since there is no point in worrying about it now I ordered a new one and went ahead and modified the throttle cable bracket and got that and the fuel rails installed., then put in the knock sensors, cam sensor, O/P sensor and finally got the intake manifold in place. So the pan is a set back but not too major of one.
