There you go. Holden's Commodore, with a Pontiac nose and GTO-esque hood scoops. Car looks friggin KILLER!! It will be shown at Chicago next week, and for sale this year.

Fast92RS 01-29-2007 06:21 PM

Looks cool but kinda reminds of a BMW.

BonzoHansen 01-29-2007 06:25 PM

You say that like it is a bad thing.

If you can judge by that little, it looks great.

TransAm619 01-29-2007 06:49 PM

Well, GM has been saying that they want Pontiac to be the BMW-fighter in the division. Hence the numerical names by size.

j0n 01-29-2007 07:10 PM

gorgeous...too bad its gunna cost 40-50 grand

Ian 01-29-2007 07:11 PM

HOLY JUNK!!! that thing is sexy!

LS1Hawk 01-29-2007 07:34 PM

Very BMW, looks great. I think they should keep the Grand Prix name plate. What would better than being out somewhere and that passes by and someone asks you, "What's that?" You say "G8" and they'll be like, "What's a G8?" But call it Grand Prix and I can bet the response would be "THAT'S A GRAND PRIX?!?!"

WildBillyT 01-29-2007 07:39 PM

You know, on second look it appears like a 300c up front. Kinda a big nose.

if it's in the 20s with an ls2 i will be amazed, and will probably make a mess in my pants

BonzoHansen 01-29-2007 09:31 PM

I expect mid 30s, maybe 35-37, 40 fully loaded. It has to be less than the CTS-V.

Ian 01-29-2007 10:23 PM

It'll probably be priced like the chrysler 300. you can get a stripped down one for under 30, but the full optioned ones go for over 40

BigAls87Z28 01-29-2007 11:46 PM

More details will be released, but pricing of the G8 will be in line with the GTO. No info is known on the engine being either the L98 version making 370hp or an American Spec LS2 making 400. There will also be a V6 model that will be sold. More info to be known in a week.

Jersey_TA 01-29-2007 11:58 PM

Looks awesome so far.

maroman88 01-30-2007 06:08 AM

ahh thats it! lol i wanna see more

Mike 01-30-2007 11:08 AM

it will be between that and the new camaro for me.....right now im leaning toward that

Tsar 01-30-2007 12:05 PM

a bimmer with an ugly grille, okks

Teds89IROC 01-30-2007 01:08 PM

From what I can see I like it. It would have been funny if that reporter ripped the rest of the cover off

Untamed 01-30-2007 01:20 PM

Can't get excited yet until I see the rest. The nose doesn't tell you anything other than it's a Pontiac. I really hope the rest of the car isn't BMW-esque. I also hope they keep the price in the 20's. Putting it up around the GTO would be stupid in my book. We aren't paying for a recognized name, and the mission of the G8 is what? A grocery getter with a huge engine?

JL8Jeff 01-30-2007 05:03 PM

Looked like a Chrylser 300 with a Pontiac grill. Hopefully they price it where it will be able to sell.
