valve cover gaskets

im doing a job on a 86 corvette i have to change valve cover gaskets the driver side is easy the passanger side is harder because of the egr what would i need to do how would i move the egr do i need to take the plentum off

if it is anything like the f-bodies you can wrestle it off with everything in place, but you'll never get it back on.
the EGR is only held on with two nuts on studs, if you jsut trun the studs out(they should be 12pt) everything that can block you will be out of the way.

im old too i never messed with a tpi vette before the camaro/firebird tpi is easerier to work on but the vette has a egr tube thats on the passanger side header it goes over the valve cover and gets bolted up on the base of the tpi

On my LT1 I managed to keep the valve cover gasket in the actual valve cover and then layed them down at the same time.
