3.4L auto to manual

I hope theres not a thread on this but does anybody know what rear gears on in the 3.4L camaro auto and what they are in the manual. Know someone who wants to swap auto for manual just need to know what rear gears he need and may the driveshaft need to be replaced.

afaik you don't need to switch drive shafts and rear gears? a rear doesn't depend on auto/stick

most 4th gen V6 cars have 3.23 rear gears no matter which trans is in the car. check the RPO sheet for the 3 digit codes in the glove box. if you see GU5 you have 3.23's, if it says GU6 you have 3.42's.

Well i cant check the code now i dont have his car but thats nice to know the rear gears and driveshart would not have to be replaced when switching from auto to manual trans even thought the auto is a 4 speed and the manual a 5 speed? But thanks for the help

you may want to replace the driveshaft regardless, in the v6, it is a 2 peice part. the v8s have one a full length shaft.

go aluminum, lighter = better, any 3rd gen or 4th gen dirveshaft will fit fine btw
