couple questions

is there anybody on here who fairly regularly parts cars? or anybody have a source for somebody who does. Local prefered. I'll be looking for a good deal on front brake assembly and 16" steel wheels fairly soon, figured i can get a better deal from a person, and I'd rather see money go towards a project then some junkyard

The other question I had is do you guys have any complaints about ur stock front brakes?

Look for the PEH Parts and Performance banner and the top of the forum. Click on that to get you in contact with someone who can probably help you out.

If you're buying all new/used front brakes why not upgrade? I don't know the exact specs for making them fit a 4th gen setup but I did the Z06 conversion on my 3rd gen for under $600.

This makes me wonder...how hard would it be to adapt the third gen kit to a 2nd gen.....

HardcoreZ28 03-09-2007 12:30 PM

Probably not very....just need the right dimensions for the caliper spacing.

jin1481 03-09-2007 03:08 PM

i got a full set of 1994 z28 rims with not so good rubber on them if you interested.

al, check over on nastyZ28, there are a few members who have done some cheap, yet serious brake upgrades.

surfer1316 03-12-2007 11:25 AM

hey guys, like I've said before these aren't going on an fbody and reason I'm sticking to stock 98-02 camaro brakes is cause I need them to fit inside a 16" wheel

jin are those the stock steelies? u know the ugly ass ones you hide behind hub aps

surfer1316 03-17-2007 05:32 PM

can anybody suggest another fbody site that I can see if I can find the wheels/brakes on? Or maybe even a good local junkyard. Thanks again

Tru2Chevy 03-19-2007 11:23 AM

You can prolly find a brake setup on LS1Tech.com - I'm sure there are several guys & girls there dumping stock setups when they upgrade.

You may come across the wheels there too, but they might be more of a chore for you. They weren't all that common.....

surfer1316 03-20-2007 07:54 AM

hahaha, yeah I'm figuring that out, every other car in existance, you can't get rid of the steelies, find them everywhere, of course the one set I need, they've gone and disappeared

surfer1316 03-24-2007 07:49 PM

hey guys, just wanted to update and say thanks, am getting a front brake set up hopefully this friday coming up, but still no luck on the wheels, and getting kinda desperate, need something to roll the truck around on, so if anybody has any other 16's takin up space they can live without, let me know, thanks again.

S15 check, 49 gmc check, hub caps check, lowering kit check, front shocks check, front brakes coming, rear sway coming starting to get exciting

j0n 03-24-2007 08:01 PM

you'll have better luck at a j/y for getting those steelies...thats where my set came from...and speaking of which if i can find a buyer for my drag radials(minus wheels) ill give ya my steelies
