obdI or II
im not sure now if my 95 camaro has an obd1 or 2 system....
the connector is shaped like a trapezoid.... anyone know which one is which? i know one is square and one is trapezoidal... just not sure which one is obd1 or 2 |
You have an OBD1 vehicle with an OBD2 style connector...all '95s got this setup and you need a specific cable to do tuning/diagnostics for your car

hmm.... will autozone be able to diagnose it ?
|
negative...Autozone can pull codes for OBD2(96+) ONLY
|
hmmm.... i went to advanced auto and told t hem about this and they said that the system they ordered and are waiting on to come in will be able to do it... hopefully this is right because the service engine light is going on and off as well as my low oil light... my oil level is fine... could my computer be going?
|
its possible

Out of the 4 advance auto parts I went to all had OBD2 scanners only. They all plugged in and appeared operational but did not find any codes when the SES light was lit. I then went to my mechanic and with his tech 2 scanner the codes showed up right away |
thats because 90% of advance auto employees don't know how to use the scanner
|
is it the oil sensor thats bad though? should i just replace it to see if it goes off?
