First pics of the Cobalt

I ordered the car on 3/3. Dealer said it would take 6 weeks to build and deliver. I get a call yesterday at work, the car is in - 3 weeks early! I'm not picking it up till Wednesday, but I ran over there quickly today to get a look at her. She's a little dirty from the delivery, but I'll post some better pics after I get her home and she's all cleaned up. I'm having them put black pinstripes on her, too.

Very nice, put a little tint on the rear windows and it'll look solid! I love those cars sometimes, but I definitely love the color!

Trust me, I wanted to! But hey, before Friday I was expecting it to be another 3 weeks, so I can't complain  The guy who sold it to me said he was shocked when he saw the truck come in with some Tahoes and my SS on it. I'm just waiting for my funds to be transfered and all that now.

I'm interested to see what happens when I get this car. I've never been challenged on the road to race in my Firehawk, but I have a feeling I will be in this.

sbcpower 03-30-2007 01:13 PM

just my .02, i don't usually do this sort of thing, but i did this time. coming out to school on rt. 80 in PA I had an SS/SC come up on my ass on, flashed his highs; i moved over figuring aight he just wants to pass. I move over and he pulls up next to me and I hear him revvin it, he puts down the window and grins so i'm thinkin alright here we go haha. he downshifts and takes off about a second after the grin; i had to wait a second or so for my car to downshift and get out of 1800rpm in 4th (4L60E), he was a bit ahead of me i started catching up i didn't walk past him until about 130mph and then we chilled out and he got off the the next ramp. I was surprised at how quick it was it went from like 70 to 110 in no time. Never really went at it with one from a stop, but I was impressed even being that my car was filled in the hatch area, rear seats, and passenger seat w/ all my crap headin out to school, not sure how much the weight played a role, i think so, but not getting into a fight over it haha. pretty impressive cars, i've heard in factory form they can take out a (non-STi) WRX.

Beautiful car man, good luck with her!

BTW I went to check one out when they first came out at Gearhart Chevy and the sales guy was arguing with me that I was wrong and it had a 2.4L not a 2.0L

LS1Hawk 03-31-2007 07:16 AM

It's definitely a fun little car. I picked her up on Wednesday. Handles great. I was a little concerned about torque steer with these cars, but it's not bad at all. When the supercharger kicks it takes off and you really feel it. A car this light, I can only imagine what it's like with the stage kits  For an entry-level Chevy, the interior is pretty nice too, although it doesn't come with an armrest, WTF??? Heel-and-toeing is a little tricky on it, but that just takes getting use to. All in all I'm pleased

sbcpower 03-31-2007 01:43 PM

Sweet car for the $$$ I liked the interior do they still have the SS embroidery on the seats?

99TA 04-01-2007 03:04 AM

pinstripes are gay

You liked the interior? It's more cheap GM junk interior

What, is your car's interior covered in gold? The Cobalt's interior is a major step up from the Cavalier. And why don't you take a look at what's going on inside the new G8 or CTS. Leaps and bounds over any Mazda I've seen.

You can read autotrader auto specs, congratulations; btw if you read it again I said I didn't catch/pull him until about 130. Now I've never done actually 160 but aren't LT1s supposed to hit 160ish top speed? I would imagine cobalts would run out of gearing near 130-140, the reason being why I caught him.

And as for the interior being crap, sorry I can't afford a 5 series BMW so "crappy" GM interiors will do for me.

You must be a salesman hahaha  The car in question is a Cobalt SS/SC just like the new ride in the thread and just like the car I was talking about in my original post. In fact the SS/SC at Gearhart was red w/ black interior accented in red. Soyou saying that some dipwad salesman owned me? It's around the same as you being owned right now, we popped the hood and there is was 2.0L supercharged. You're right an SS is a N/A 2.4L;not the SS/SC...the car we've been talking about since the beginning. Read the posts before you make yourself look stupid.

maroman88 04-01-2007 06:29 PM

hehe i love when ******** get owned

got some new pics of it at home yet???

I wanted to take some pics this weekend, but I was on Long Island all day Saturday, and today the weather was crap. I'm gonna try to take some better pics this week.

a. you never stated you looked at a SS/SC..just that you "went to check one out" but the thread starter never mentioned if his was an SS/SC ;)

just like the car I was talking about in my original post.
again you assume everyone knows you were referring back to the vehicle YOU were racing rather than the person who started this thread.

Quote:

So you saying that some dipwad salesman owned me?
at this point im saying your being a d&*k but yes if you saw SS on the side of the cobalt & assumed it was automatically the SC'd version yes the salesman couldve owned you.

ps...wonderful maybe you shouldve stated that.

why don't YOU read the posts before you make yourself look stupid...yours was the first post to mention a SS/SC model again, not the thread starter.

PS...I made my initial post lightheartedly and with valuable information missing from YOUR post there was a strong possibility you were looking at a plain SS. In closing get a sense of humor ;)
