should i or shouldnt i (tbss question)

i received a phone call from a friend that works at mufflex today and was informed that they did a custom 4'' stainless exhaust for some guy in north carolina, and that the guy changed his mind and got a 3'', so now they have a custom 4'' catback for my trailblazer laying in the shop that he said i can get on the cheap...

i like that the trucks quiet, but he says its not insanely loud, and the drones not to bad inside........

opinions please

Tru2Chevy 03-28-2007 02:04 PM

Do it.....if you end up really not caring for it, you can always go back to stock and sell the catback.

:stupid:

Mike 03-28-2007 02:07 PM

forgot to mention, i already have a buyer if i dont like it, so im probably buying either way.....

and install will be included in my price

Tru2Chevy 03-28-2007 02:09 PM

...which just sweetens the deal.

WayFast84 03-28-2007 02:13 PM

do it

Mike 03-28-2007 02:16 PM

reason for not, is that it is nice being able to leave my house without waking people up......and drive around and be able to listen to music at a normal volume......

baddest434 03-28-2007 02:29 PM

like you said though you can always resell it. give it a shot

Anti_Rice_Guy 03-28-2007 02:54 PM

4" exhaust. stupid question. OF COURSE!

BonzoHansen 03-28-2007 03:01 PM

Potential con: Still covered by GM Warranty?

Otherwise I'd say do it.

Mike 03-28-2007 03:09 PM

its a cat back so it should be?

ive never owned a warrenty vehicle before, someone chime in

Anti_Rice_Guy 03-28-2007 03:19 PM

I do believe that it won't void the warranty.

1_Hot_SOM_WS6 03-28-2007 03:50 PM

I would do it :)

BonzoHansen 03-28-2007 03:57 PM

It shouldn't, but dealers can be very bothersome. Perhaps you should ask them.

DaSkinnyGuy 03-28-2007 04:01 PM

I wouldnt theres not enough horse power for a 4 inch system, 3 inch is plenty big. you will actually not gain anything from that big the exhaust needs some back pressure. Unless this is some special trailblazer that has a duramax diesel it in. which i doubt. Get a 3 inch system with dynomax race bullets.

Mike 03-28-2007 04:04 PM

um my stock exhaust is 3''...........

i think 400 is plenty of horsepower for a catback, thanks though

DaSkinnyGuy 03-28-2007 04:06 PM

Well if its cheep then go ahead but post some vids of it

Rich189 03-28-2007 04:14 PM

id say do it mike what muffler is in it...buddy has one of thier 4 inch systems on his tt camaro and its not overly loud... about the same as my car if that gives you any indication

slasherbarb 03-28-2007 05:52 PM

DOOO IT!!!!

maroman88 03-28-2007 06:17 PM

i think the pole has answered ur question lol 13-0

Ian 03-28-2007 06:55 PM

I say do it, if you hate it you can always take it off and sell it.

JL8Jeff 03-28-2007 07:06 PM

Do it, but add a 4" cutout so you can really piss people off! Sounds like it's worth a shot.

qwikz28 03-28-2007 07:25 PM

i voted no. whats the point in making a daily driver loud? you said it yourself that you like your car being quiet and 400hp is enough. sell it and bag the money
