What To Do: $1100
I have 1100 to burn...yeah, robbed a bank.
I have thought about a few things. #1- Hotckis TVS suspension system for the 72 plus other odds and ends or other hodge-podge suspension system using various other cheaper yet equivilent parts. #2- Save for Vacation. #3- Buy a computer due to mine being a total POS that is 6 years old. #4- Invest into a high yield mutal fund or CD #5- Other |
well a computer can be built for way less than $1100 fyi

no. give it to your sister so she can pay off some stuff. :flower: |
Put it into a high yield interest account until June 8. Then give money and interest to me as a wedding gift :) (It might be smart to take the money out a few days before ;) ).
For real though, put it away. ING has a decent savings account, as do a couple others now (HSBC and Emigrant are the ones I know of). 5% interest could net you a decent amount by the end of the year to buy yourself a nice computer and still have money left over from the sale price to buy whatever else. |
Investment is a good idea, thinking about it in the long term, but this was more or less something to be done soon.
I know I could build one for cheaper, but where is the fun in that? Suspension is winning in my mind. There was something else too... And AC is out...dont gamble. |
Vacations are so much fun.
|
vacations are short lived. i say suspension cause the market is too unstable (bob gable) to be investing right now IMO. if your computer is getting the job done then who cars?

Save it, one way or another (whether it's for vacation or investing it)
|
Let's be serious...the sensible option is to save/invest it for the future, but come on, we're car people. we spend our hard-earned money on the cars...its what we do. go for the suspension al

"F" sensible....an asteroid could hit us tomorrow....enjoy it...suspension,heads,a new diff....whatever will make your Camaro happy.....why are you asking us?.... what does the car want?

BUY A THIRDGEN!

Invest...... putting money into the car will mkake you smile for a bit.... but when you need the money it is gone.... invest it... and it is always there as "just in case" money.
Maybe buy 1 small part for the car? then invest the rest? That would be a compromise |

Who didnt see that coming.....
Investment is fighting hard with suspension, but suspension mightw in out due to the fact that the 1100 bucks is just cash I have been just been putting to the side for a the past few months. I was originaly going to just buy the TVS system, but it still doesnt include shocks, and I have heard there is a bit more fabrication that will have to be done to the kit to make it "work". Investing it into something was an idea. The market isnt actualy that bad right now, there is money to be made. Computer, well the one I have is old and isnt doing the job. If Im on line, its cause Im on one of my brothers computers, or my father's computer...or work. I get at most 2 days on my computer and then the USB connection dies and no more wireless...I dunno. I try to reestablish connection, but it says it "dont know no nuthin about no USB connection." I am planning to go on vacation to Europe this summer, and I was thinking of just putting themoney off for BS money when I get over there. |

Invest at least some of it and then maybe buy something for the 72 with a little bit. Start building that "buy a home" stash. I saved up $35K to use towards buying a house. But that was a long, long time ago so you guys will probably need a lot more saved up today. Enjoy a little bit but invest most of it.
