Can someone please tell me how to hook up this HID kit
Well my halos with 8000k HID came in today. Got everything in and hooked up the way i thought it should go and the headlights do not work. The halos work(spliced into fogs) and when I turn on the high beams they work(they are not HID) There is a random connector in the box that has 2 ends that look like they plug in to something but I do not know what. And of course they came with NO DIRECTIONS..believe me I sent a nice email to the ebay seller! I have no clue when it comes to this stuff and any help is appreciated here are some picss
Top wire is the one I have no clue about http://inlinethumb54.webshots.com/30...500x500Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb60.webshots.com/14...500x500Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb08.webshots.com/25...500x500Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb38.webshots.com/15...500x500Q85.jpg |
take a better shot of the blue wire coming out of the HID box. that should be power in. the red encased wire looks to go to the hid bulb itself. that random connector should plug into the blue encased wire, and then the metal prong on the end hook up to the factory headlight harness/headlight connector. i know on some kits that wire(your blue encased one) plugs right into the stock headlight connector BUT thats not the right way. when you do that, to polarities are switched. use that small adapter harness and make sure red-red and black-black, or at least that its opposite from when the harness isnt used and the blue wire is diretcly plugged into the stock headlight connector

ill post up a drawing later today of exactly what you need to do. the high beam wiring stays stock, it has nothign to with the HIDs.

ok thanks man i appreciate it. My dad and I will probably kick ourselves in the ass after this!!! I just dont know where the small clip with the red and black wires go. Do i splice them into the stock wire that used to be for the stock headlight bulb??

sorry it took me so long... hopefully this helps some.
in the pic you notice i state "notice: red to black, black to red". thats where the small harness comes into play, if the harness isnt used, the polarity from the factory connector to the ballast isnt correct. i just did a HID install in my friends car. i had it wihtout using the small harness and it didnt work, when we used it and connected the small harness positive to positive and negative to negative, it worked. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d5.../HIDwiring.jpg |
Thanks man..I was a little weary about cutting into the factory power supply, but thats what i ended up doing and it worked. Now i just have to get around to adjusting the light beams but school is kicking my ass!
