easiest way to change sparkplugs on my LS1?
i got 7 changed, the real pain the ass one is the rear pass side. i have headers too, so i dunno if that makes it tougher or not.. how the heck can i get to it and take that sucker out? been workin like 15 mins on that one alone and im running out of patience
all help appreciated~ |
Get under the car, only suggestion I have. I have big hands and I found it damn near impossible to get the plug wire in from the top of the car ( headers with emissions, I'm stupid).

dont know if your engine layout is the same as a gen 1 sbc...but an offset 5/8ths wrench seems to be one of the only ways to get it out on my car...just enough to break it lose then i take it with your hand.

hmmmmm.....i think i know how...hard to explain tho

Stubby socket, and disconnect the AIR if it's on your headers.

i got it, i took a break, so i cooled down a bit. and then i took a 3/4 wrench and used it to turn the spark plug socket and got it! but my car is still running like ***** arg. my large hands are quite dirty now and bleeding yay!
thanks for your input fellas, it is always greatly appreciated! |
pay someone..lol

3/4 racheting wrench on a spark plug socket works great for that plug
|
easiest way? pull the engine... lol

remove engine, place in 2nd or 3rd gen rx7

from underneath is the easiest way with headers...there is no easy way on 98's with stock manifolds because the pass. cat gets in the way from the bottom.
|
...stop fouling them.....
