Which headers for 3rd gen

89 IROC 305TPI. Im looking into replacing stock headers with better ones. Which would you recommend for flow and fit?

I have a set of edelbrock tes headers and they seem to be pretty good, good fit and nice quality.

SLP and Edelbrock have the best fit and finish it seems for thirdgen shorty style pipes. right now Edelbrock is the only way to go if you are worried about getting emissions stuff as SLP is phasing out their thirdgen stuff.

i have an 88 iroc and i have hooker header+y pipe package, no collectors with it either , and is emissions legal, can get from jegs i know for a fact, i dont remember where i got mine from lol was last year when i smashed the front end and found out first hand how SH!TTY Hedmann headers are. and i think my car sounds good with them+flowmaster.

What happend with the Heddman headers? I had them and they looked like good quality headers. I had mine coated, but as far as the fit and everything, they went in great with no real problems outside of standard crap anyone deals with when installing headers.

As Tim said Edelbrock and SLP seem to be the headers of choice for the thirdgen models. Hooker is also highly reputable. I haven't had any experience with Heddman.

i have hooker super comp headers now, but i had the edelbrock TES system on my 305 tbi and everything went great for the install. EVEYRTHING was included that i needed which i liked alot. id get a set of coated TES headers.

I have the hooker super comps and they were a pita during the install...I also had the edelbrock and heddmans and out of them all I liked the heddmans the best....

I bought Camaroracer1992's Edelbrock TES headers and they were great. I sent them to be jet-hot coated and they looked awesome. I will be going with a set of SLP's on my 86 soon.

I had SLP's on my 87 GTA. No complaints here.

I have dynomax shorty headers not exactly the greatest fit the drivers side header rubbed on the cross member.

What kind of shape are your engine mounts in? Sometimes a worn out mount can cause headers not to fit well.....
