To tint, or not to tint

Well I just got my new inspection sticker and I don't know whether I want to retint my windows. The car looked SOOO much better with my tint on the windows but it was such a #%&ing hassle avoiding cops and driving at night. I can't decide what I want =/

What do you guys think?

procamaroz28 05-31-2007 12:13 AM

cops love going after tinted cars yet having a tinted f body would make their dreams come true lol

I drove around with limo tint for 18 months and didn't get pulled over once, maybe I just had it lucky?

If everything else on your car is in order, and you don't normally drive like a jacka$$, I would say re-tint. Suck it up and deal with the $54 ticket if you get lucky enough to get one.

Is the 54 dollar a fix it ticket or no?

Co-worker just got popped today for tint on everything except the windshield. He drives a Toyota 4 Runner, with a bunch of other stuff hanging off it (bull bar, lights, chrome front plate instead of lic plates).

Cop followed him into the parking lot where all of us could watch, laugh and point.

re-tint, i loved my car tinted but i took it off for inspection and failed anyway, ended going else where for a sticker, but now i like to drive around with my cut out open and the draws attention i don't know if i want the tint attention also. but if your not really loud and have a front plate and dont drive like and as*hole you should do it.

You are most definately correct justin, i was driving around w/ my windows tinted for 1-1.5 years, been all over, and never had a problem until i drove thru franklin twp nj lol. also got a failure to turn off highbeams there one year. ask brandon (demonicbird) about franklin twp cops, they are truly dicks! we dont drive thru there unless we have no other choice but to do so. awe hell, ive been pulled over in other towns before, and they tapped on my tinted window when i was pulled over, but never got a tint ticket for that lol

njfastestcamaro 05-31-2007 11:25 AM

Skip the tint, it's a cop magnet. They will always try to find other issues to nail you for and if you ever decide to have a beer and drive the car they can use the tint as a perfect reason to pull you over and then notice you've been drinking. I had the rear hatch tint on my 96 SS and I couldn't see out of it to back up at night and that makes for a dangerous enough situation. You basically don't want any reason to get pulled over. Tint, loud exhaust, no cats, drag radials, skinnies up front, no front plate, they all make for perfect reasons to pull you over.

I say go and put the tint back on. Its an easy "get out of speeding" ticket. I'd much rather pay the $54 then points.

True, a friend of mine got puled over for doing 70 in a 50 but he only got a ticket for obstruction of view because he had some fuzzy dice hanging from his mirror.

I would say tint it :)
