Tinting (smoking) stock tail lights
has anyone done it, what does it look like?
i want a different look; i have ordered a set of carbon fiber tail lights and....ugh...it speaks for itself. They looked better on the website. Way to ricey for me, and besides that have water in them now. I have seen black euro's, but again...i dont think it will look right. I think im just goin to put my stock ones on, but i was thinking about smoking them. does it look gay? |
i did mine, but its a 3rd gen. im sure a few people have 4th gens with it done
|
u have a pic?

that "VHT nightshade" stuff, does it really work? I DON'T want my tails so dark that ot blocks light...i dont want some yuppi ******** me in the @$$ at a red light b/c he didn't see my brakes lights. Can you make it "light"? I just want a "smoked" look, not the "5% tint" look

that was like 5 lightish coats of VHT, 2 coats of clear over it...light still shined through, the only bad part was my reverse lights didnt work as well anymore but oh well. you can tint it real light so you can still kinda see the red if you want |
eh ill whore it out some more

sweet guys, thanks. It seems like ur bother between 3 and 5 coats to get that dark. I just wanted to make sure that 1 coat didn't black it out. i would def want some red to show, i just want it smoked.
lookin good |
I think that looks awesome. I can't recall, were there any nightime pics with brake lights applied? I'd like to see how much shines through at night.
