Elusive Striped Catfish No More :-( *56K grab a brewski)

Well, I killed the stripes. I had to, because the driver quarter panel had to be fixed due to its little "mishap" that happened at the beginning of June, and that particular stripe had to be removed. Its step 1 of 3 on my to-do list before I trade it in. It looks so bare, makes Baby Jesus want to cry  .
On the bright side, as of today, there is barely any flaws in the exterior, which is great :-D

Previous damage, looked worse than what the picture shows.

All spiffed up, and almost ready to be traded in.

Im already scoping out an 06 Impulse Blue goat, M6, blue leather (which i dont care for too much), but its only got 4K miles and its in the $24K range.

Step 2 is to reinstall stock manifolds + cats (thanks jake) some other day when its not raining... and Step 3 is to have the stock springs/shocks installed. Then, its off to the dealer.

yessss, blue/blue

why the old style taillights? i like them a lot better then the 3 color later style ones... so if its for appearance then good job!

jola 07-19-2007 10:04 AM

How does a GTO's handling compare to a 4th gen f-body's (stock v. stock)?

Yes.

And, if u refer yourself to the first picture, a taillight was broken... i got an old style set from Jake so I could get around from point a to point b until i got the damage fixed.

gto=slow and ugly imo
keep the fbody stock vs stock z is faster better looking and does not have the ugliest seats in the world blue leather.

i own a Z and i would rather have a gto. its far more refined and still has the ls2 so it should be as fast, if not faster than the z. i like the modern look of the goat more actually

Raist103 07-20-2007 10:18 AM

thats cool to me it just looks like a bigger grand prix and is much heavier then the z and is slower, any of the test articles will say that. plus i have driven one and was not impressed. to me it felt like driving a boat my typhoon handle better. and i guess i am just found of the zs since nothing has ever even come close to what the z can do with the few mods i had on it in the handling department.

It has its pro's and cons... im getting out of Fbodies cuz thats all Ive ever drove. Ive owned 5 total f-bodies ranging from 1985 to my current 01... its gotten very boring. I use to love to drive, now its "eh". GTO still has the GM engineering + LS2, which is why Im getting one. Well, the blue one isnt listed anymore. Im gonna take a trip up by alex's way, theres an 06 silver goat m6 + black leather in the $23k's.

And besides, i didnt ask for anyones opinion on me getting a goat. Its a fact that Im gonna buy one, so dont take this off topic

Noah wheres the Goat @? Give me a call when you go look.

JL8Jeff 07-20-2007 04:58 PM

That Z really is plain looking when you put it back to stock. You should just wait another year and grab a new Camaro.

Brando56894 07-20-2007 06:26 PM

sad to see it go :( imo the new gto's look too plain for me

Ah I saw that car, thats where my parents picked up our new truck a few weeks ago. The car looks to be in good shape but they also had it all over the lot so my guess is the sales guys got to drive it.
