Finally Chose My Motor...
Well I was on this forum for a while when I had my 86 Trans Am....and I got another more reliable car and fell off this forum for awhile, but now I'm finally figured out what motor I'm putting in the car....I talked to a local machine shop in Rahway (B&B) and we've come to the conclusion that I want a 383 built for boost. So they have come up with the idea of an 8.75:1 compression, and I've decided to run a Nelson Racing Twin Turbo kit for 3rd Gen F-Body's. On a 408 sbc they dyno'd about 1374 @ 29 psi on pump gas. So I'm finally building my track car.....just waiting on the motor...

i wish i had the money for a good project  |
good luck but make sure you realize an engine is only a small part of a track car...especially one making over 1000hp

:stupid: 1000HP looks good on paper but will be a nightmare to get to the ground. My advice is build the car first, then put in the motor. Youa re looking at probably another $10-15,000 in supporting mods to handle that kind of power. I'd shoot for a more reasonable 500-600HP and somehting that is a little less on the ragged edge unless you have the cash for a new engine every year.

Good luck with that. I started building from the ground up. Power is pointless if you can't get it to the ground.

Oh, I already know how I am doing my whole setup, from my rear to my 4 link suspension to my transmission and saftey equipment....

Bah - what's this back halving crap?
