What would you rather have...

If you had a choice between a 1,000 HP centrifugally blown engine, or a 750 HP N/A engine, which would you choose? And why? Both engines would be streetable, and run on pump gasoline.

Myself, I like the SC. Even with my car having about 1/2 of that 1,000, as a street car I like the fact that in the lower RPMs when there is little to no boost the engine is much more docile and easy to drive around town and cruise. High N/A powered cars don't have that same feeling, least none that I had. Granted I go back a few years, but my 440 was 700HP and wasn't happy below 4,000RPMs, it didn't like to idle, surged badly in low RPMs and required a really high stall so cruising around town was a pain.

I hear ya about the N/A engine being tempermental, but my "case engine" would have modern F/I and engine management. And you know I'm a fan of centrif. superchargers. :) I've kinda come to the conclusion that I want to be able to run with a Bugatti Veyron!

Anything can be made to fit if ya got the bux. Cut the cowl and windshield, and slap that puppy on!

Definitely the S/C motor. Or better yet, twin turbo! You know that the slight whine of the supercharger also acts as a deer repellent and makes it a safer vehicle to drive! You could probably get an insurance discount for having that anti-deer device.

Twin turbos are prolly "the" way to go...but all that plumbing is outa my league. The blower is more of a bolt on, and I can't help but always think of George Baxter's 1,000+ hp blown LT1...
