Help, truck died, how do i get it started?
Its a 1992 Full Size blazer 350 TBI
I know this goes in the other forum but i need an answer now. Went to lunch, turned my key, cranked, nothing. DOnt smell any fuel coming out of the tail pipes dribbled some gas down the throttle body (i know I know stupid but who cares) fired right up then shut down, ok, so no fuel right? Checked fuel pump fuse, fine, turned key to on position, checked for juce to fuel pump fuse, nadda, is the relay before or after the fuse, I think its a bad fuel pump relay, it is mounted right on the fire wall where rain could dribble down, its a 15 year old truck, do I run to teh parts store and get a relay? |
That could be it. Does the pump prime when you turn the key to on but don't crank it over?
|
nope, not with no power it dont, im just trying to figure out of the fuse is before or after the relay, it would make more sence to be before though, if thats the case it aint the relay, im looking for a wiring diagram on line now, if anyone has one feel free to post up thanks

Check the autozone site for a diagram.
If it is like my 93 K1500, FP relay is on the firewall. Also there is an OPS is involved. Actually, that could cause a no start. Relay is really for initial cranking, then OPS kicks in for fp circuit. If it is TBI, you can see if the injectors are firing. |
Thanks, good lookin out, found the wire was hot durring the purge cycle (about 3-4 seconds once the key was turned to othe on position) but went back to cold until the engine fired, seeing as how there was no pressure during the purge cycle and it never did fire up I could only assume it was the tank, yanked the tank last night in my driveway... fun... broke the line off the sending unit... more fun... now Im waiting on a sending unit, pump, strainer and lock ring to arrive today. One thing though, i noticed a substance like bulb grease packed into the groove around the lock ring.. I know bulb grease repells water, was it indeed bulb grease? Should I pack some fresh bulb grease around the new retainer ring once I reinstall everything? Im thinking yes.
