go buy good gear...jacket with CE approved armor, always wear boots with long pants, a pair of gloves, and a full face helmet. And enjoy it, riding is great fun

That doesn't matter when a young driver isn't paying attention and cuts you off to try and make a U turn leaving you with no where to go but into the side of his/her car......right j0n?

 I was on a crotchrocket, yet I was travelling ~65-70mph and just cruising in the left lane

Thats the truth! Can't tell your how many time I almost got run over by people that were not paying attention. Finally after six years I couldn't take it anymore and sold my Hog. You have to pay 10x the attention cause no one else is when your on a bike. But they are tons fun when your out riding country roads where no else is around. So have fun with it.

When you go for your first few night time rides, don't wait until 2am thinking there is less traffic, therefore less chance to get hit. You may have half the amount of traffic, however the people driving are twice as tired (or drunk) and are less likely to pay attention.

Night time cruises aroung 9-11pm are your best times, before people leave the bars or stumble home half asleep.
