 |  k.  it's not really clear who got pulled over from the sentence (?) i quoted.  it could've been his friend, since his friend is closer to the comma.  sometimes punctuation helps, sometimes not.  it might've been more clear if he had said:
 
some douche bag decides to start tailgating my friend.  long story short, the douche bag got pulled over, and will no doubt be enjoying that 5 point ticket. (douche bag used twice for reinforcement of who the other guy was.)
 
it's all a matter of proper placement of the correct punctuation.  but, then again,
