Faux leather for interior?

How do people feel about faux leather for an interior? I am considering redoing the door panels and maybe the dash pad in a suede faux leather. I want to recover the dash pad in something that is not shiny, sun reflecting on the glass makes it hard to see even with sunglasses on. Plus I have a small crack in the dash pad and would like to cover it up. I would do the door panels to match and maybe the console if I have enough extra material when everything else is done.
If you say nay to faux leather maybe you have another material or something else that I may have not thought about. Opinions or suggestions welcome. Currently my interior is colored...... wait the interior isnt in the car, . It will be black when I put everything back in.

Panels yes, not sure how the dash pad would look.

Red carpet. Use shag for that extra "textured" look to it. No shine, and soft to the touch. :)

Just kidding. I don't think a leather covered dash would look right. Door panels certainly, but the dash should probably remain vinyl. Keep teh dash stock looking.

You can do the seats in leather or merrokide or however ya spell it (fake leather).

I understand that fully but I dont like it so shiny, makes for too much glare on the window. I guess I could get a pad cover like Bonzo has...

if you can get it to lay flat and tight on the dash pad, i think it will look ok.
