Just a little about myself and my Camaro. My name is Gene and I live in Central Florida near Daytona Beach and Orlando. I currently have two 1969 Camaros.....an SS 396, Burnished Brown w/4-speed fully restored and a plane Jane 327 w/air and automatic project car. My SS 396 has scored as high as 975 at the Winter Nationals in the Trailered Division. It took me eight years to finish the project and has brought me a lot of pleasure over the years. My SS has been featured on the cover of Worldwide Camaro Clubs magazine "CamaroWorld" several times over the last ten years. I also had the pleasure of having my car featured with the Hugger Orange 2009 Camaro at Rev It Up in July of this year. I will be retiring from 38 years of teaching in June, 2008 and can't wait to start the restoration of my small block car. Hope to meet some of you this year at the Winter Nationals in February at Old Town.

Welcome Gene... are talking about the Old Town that is in Kissimmee just out side of Orlando the place with the drag ride?? If it is I will be there I have gone there the past 4 years

fbody396 09-26-2007 09:15 AM

Yes!!! Old Town in Kissimmee. If you've ever been up to the metal canopy where we have the donuts and coffee......and made a donation......you've probably seen me and my Camaro. We use the money to help out the mentally handicapped kids I teach at Lake Mary High School. Hope to meet you in person this year. Thanks for the WELCOME message.

Nice ride! You don't see to many burnished brown cars around these days.

Also, I like the rims

I looked at your restoration pictures and it brought back memories i'd just as soon forget. I did the outer fender wells, full GM quarters, a door skin and all new front GM sheet metal on mine. Lucky for me my floor pans were good. My car was the same color as yours.....Code 59 Frost Green! Had my car been a Z-28 with black stripes I may have gone with that color. That's why I decided on the Burnished Brown. Factory color and not many out there. You either love it or you hate it......like Frost Green!

Here are a couple of my restoration shots.

Welcome. I should post up some pictures of my 69 Z28 JL8 with both quarters and tailpanel removed. It's actually a solid car but there were enough dents, dings and cut wheel openings that it was easier and better to put on NOS quarters and tailpanel to get it all back to original condition.

fbody396 09-27-2007 07:50 AM

Wow!! JL8/Crossram......nice retirement account! Please post the pictures. I have a friend down here that is doing several JL8/crossram restorations right now. I'm amazed at how many are still around.
