well, Im going away for a few days

I'll be flying out to San Bernadino, California early tomorrow morning to pick up one of our boom trucks, and drive it back here. The other CDL driver I work with was supposed to go, but just lost his license for 7 months with a DUI. Dumb on his part.

2700 miles or 40 hours. Which ever comes first. I'll bring my laptop just in case I stay at a hotel a night or two, and lurk a little.

I'll be sure to have my camera handy. Peace out!

Jersey_TA 10-11-2007 05:34 PM

Come back safe. Gonna miss you man.

It's be like the old days...when you use to know me...and text me all the time! When we were married...well we wont go there...LMAO.

Be safe kid...if you need someone to chat with my phones on :)

56 hours with the only stops being for fuel, 200 gallon capacity. that was our best time, driving team, with the truck always moving except fuel stops. i don't think 40 hours can be done without breaking several laws in several states... ;)

so if its supposed to be a 40 hour drive, is that your work week for this week, or is it overtime?

unstable bob gable 10-11-2007 08:05 PM

Pretty cool adventure!

GP99GT 10-11-2007 08:16 PM

yeah 40 hours seems pretty fast for that.....maybe if you drive without sleeping at all

greetings from Oklahoma city! So I'm chilling in my hotel room watching the news about tornado warnings till 10:00 tonight. Great ..

So far not a bad trip, just boring.
Flew in Friday afternoon and spent the night in So Cal. Left Saturday morning.

-Southern California is nothing but dirt, and dirt mountains.
-Arizona was long, and borning, and nothing but more dirt. Only enjoyable part was seeing the colorado river crossing into it. Flagstaff shouldn't even be considered a town.
-New Mexico .... didn't think that state would ever end. I had to buy a permit to drive through it for some reason. I should have followed the trucks next to me and blew by that weigh station.
-Texas .... nothing till I hit Amarillo. Homes, stores, shopping malls. Didn't feel alone anymore. Then I got pulled over for doing 74 in a 70 and my mudflaps being too short..... only got a warning though so thats cool.
-Oklahoma so far is nice .. except for the Tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings.

Tomorrow I will be through the rest of Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois and hopefully be halfway in Indiana.

It is our truck base out of our Moorestown location. We had a big job in the LA area and took a few of our vehicles from our Texas and Florida locations also.

Plus, rather get it home sooner then cross the country in winter time.
