theres a 95% chance i have a 177 weiand supercharger and 850 carb coming my way...that it all.

chrisfrom nj 10-28-2007 06:32 PM

thats cool what are you going to put it on

deadtrend1 10-28-2007 06:40 PM

I'm going to say the 454SS pickup

EVIL90SS 10-28-2007 07:17 PM

that is correct....semi fresh, built 454....charged !

NJSPEEDER 10-28-2007 08:03 PM

i hope the weiand is new or freshly rebuilt. they are not very good blowers and don't last long. if you are buying new, go BDS.

JSPERFORMANCE 10-28-2007 08:07 PM

That is actually going to be extremely undersized for even a mild big block..

trashman01 10-28-2007 08:17 PM

yea that seems small, why not get a 6-71 teflon strip or a 8-71?

Specs on the motor: http://www.njfboa.org/forums/showpos...61&postcount=1

Now has an Edelbrock intake and a 750 DP on it instead of upgraded TBI.

EVIL90SS 10-29-2007 07:31 AM

edelbrock rpm airgap intake, holley 770 carb, gmpp hei

JSPERFORMANCE 10-29-2007 07:36 AM

Yup, too small. Might make 4 lb of boost at most, I would lean towards a 6-71 or a procharger instead..

JSPERFORMANCE 10-29-2007 07:37 AM

and the hei probably wont work with any roots blower.

JSPERFORMANCE 10-29-2007 07:40 AM

carb is too small too

NightRydaSS 10-29-2007 10:02 AM

wow, way to rain on the dudes parade. lol

coudn't make that all one post?

EVIL90SS 10-29-2007 05:09 PM

well new carb with it is an 850, works with hei, ran strong as all hell, and makes 6 lbs of boost.
came off my friends lifted 2500 chevy on 44's , made close to 500hp.

so yeah.

Tru2Chevy 10-29-2007 05:18 PM

Doesn't your motor already make 425 or 450 hp? That blower might not have enough snot to make a nice increase for you.

But hey, if you are getting a good deal, give it a shot and see what happens. If it's not much of a difference, then sell it and put that money towards the magnacharger that you've been talking about for years.
