CHECK OUT THIS 2000 FIREHAWK 1 OF 6/RARE SPOILER

Just thought some of you might like to see what is out there if you are into FIREHAWKS. This was listed on eBay and was item number 280171310959. It has the RARE SLP spoiler(which I never saw before), and with the combo it is only 1 0f 6 produced. Looks awesome and look at WHAT IT SOLD FOR. Yeah, it does have a salvage title, but the dealer does explain what caused it, and if you are going to keep it, who cares about it. The overall car was a steal, and the pictures show it looks like it came out of the showroom. I would have sold my car in an instant to have that HAWK, but that's just a daydream now! :-?

That's ONLY the spoiler, but if you own a MUSTANG, it's the ENTIRE CAR!!!:kneeslap:

Raist103 11-18-2007 12:24 PM

I def. dont LOVE the spoiler....but I dont hate it either.....:| I prob would NOT rock it on my car though. Hmmmm.....it's got a salvage title. That sucks.

ar0ck 11-18-2007 01:54 PM

I would still take it. I could deal.

The spoiler is either love it or it. It's like the NOTCHBACK on the 1989 Trans Am. I think it looks stupid, compared to the look of the curved glass on the stock Birds, but it was a very rare option, and it makes that model stand out from the crowd, and someday it will be worth a LOT MORE because of it. Same with this spoiler, it's really different and will make that HAWK stand out from the crowd. I was REALLY SHOCKED that the car went for that(CHEAP) money, in the condition that the pictures showed of it. He had a 1999 HAWK that sold for over $25,000. Plus he sold the Year One Blackbird for $45,000. Also check out the 1992 FIREHAWK (#20 of 27) with 4,000 miles(check out his other cars for sale at the bottom of the ad) that he has. Man, do I wish he was closer, there would be some trading going on. :hitit:

Like I said about the SALVAGE title, he explained how it got there. If you are going to keep the car, it's not like it was a flood or totaled. I know that's why the price was soooooo cheap, but the new owner got one hell of a bargain, and when you take it out or go to car shows, who knows what the title says!

Tru2Chevy 11-18-2007 05:19 PM

Would that be the SLP IROC spoiler that I've heard about?

S/T hurts resale value, no doubt.

I really don't know too much about this spoiler. I have NEVER seen it before this. Does anyone know when it became an option, and what was it called? I don't think it's ugly, just different enough to make it a conversation piece when you go to shows. Like another member said about the salvage title, "It does hurt the R/S value", but again if you are going to buy it as a keeper, look at those pictures. I think the condition looks drop dead FANTASTIC, and for what they paid for it, ARGGGGGGG!:drool::drool:

The spoiler was originally an option for the '99 model year even before SLP finally decided on using the factory pop-up headlights instead of the fixed lighting. My old Car and Driver that first featured the LS1 Firehawk dubbed the spoiler as a controversial furrowed brow.

I dont mind the spoiler that much. I dont thinks its as nice as the normal one though, so I can see why not so many were made.

About the salvage title- You can rebuilt the car and replace everything that was stolen/broken and request the DMV to inspect the car to have a clear title issued. Its not a normal inspection like you do every two years or whatever, they go through every nut and bolt and if everything is as it was, they can issue a clear title again.

hm, is it me, or am I the only one who picked up him saying it has an auburn rear....didnt 98+ come wiht the Zexel? I dont like the wing, not my thing.

firehawk1120 11-18-2007 10:11 PM

it was just an option from SLP. I originally had it ordered and they told me after 4 months of waiting there was another 3 months on back order due to the spoiler. I ditched it so I could get the Hawk and boy was I glad. I think it makes the car look like a tiburon. I eventually sold my 00 Hawk and got the 02 again opting NOT to get the whale spoiler.

Nothing rare about it what so ever. And the Auburn was an option on the Hawk not mandatory.

It was an option for the Camaro SS too. In fact, my used rear-end has the auburn differential.

The Notch ONLY came on the 88 GTA, and speculation says 1 was allowed to sell on an 89 model but that is not confirmed.

Knipps 11-19-2007 09:29 PM

i like the notches on the 3rd gens
not a fan of this wing though.
