weight to rotational weight
How much weight would 4 ibs act in rotational weight?
|
whats the weight coming from? driveshaft, brake rotors, wheels, etc.

4lbs in each wheel would be a slightly noticeable difference in acceleration and braking i'd say
|
4lbs from each wheel unsprung? general rule of thumb is 1lb of unsprung "feels" like 4lbs sprung. so 4lbs x 4 wheels x 4lb rule = ~64lbs. so i'd say it would knock off about .5 seconds in the quarter and make your car handle and stop a little worse

you mean .05 right?
|
do not apply information about freeing up power through weight reduction to ET's. ET is about hooking your car and taking advantage of your engines power band through proper gearing. dropping weight is about power to weight ratio and lends itself directly to trap speed and only indirectly to ET if you keep it hooked.

we had a young guy some years back deside to take a muffler gun to his car so it would go faster - 2 days later and a 4 foot pile of stuff later all that his ticket showed was it spun leaving the line and ended up being slower, oh yea and his drivers window exploded when the door sagged hahahahhahahh he ended up junking the car, it was real funny at the time i guess you would have to been their -- jz
