This is BS

I bought a 92 Camaro front chin spoiler from this guy in PA on TGO and I sent immediate payment through paypal on 1/11 for 2 day shipping plus the part. I asked him for a tracking number and he didn't have one. After like a week he finally discovered he forgot to add some kind of info and the part was unable to be shipped. Also, this was shipped through some place "Going Postal"? I never heard of it. Anyway he tells me they will e-mail him a tracking # and he will then forward it to me. I get a PM yesterday at 7:30am that he has the info and is forwarding it to me and he thanked me again for the purchase. I never received an e-mail with a tracking # or anything, so just before I filed a dispute with paypal. The part should have gone out Thursday or Friday the latest which means I should have it Monday or Tuesday. If it's not here by then I can escalate the issue to a claim and paypal takes this matter into their own hands and hopefully I will get my money back. I also noticed he deleted his location from the TGO message boards. I'm so pissed about this, it's so frustrating. I've had the OK from AAA to fix my car 3 weeks ago and I can't start my front end suspension rebuild till this is solved. So I'm stuck. I wished his location was still up there I could have asked if anyone knew the area

let's get donald duck's address and kick his butt

GP99GT 01-26-2008 11:16 AM

you should be able to get his address through paypal, no?

V 01-26-2008 11:18 AM

going postal is a shipping place like mail boxes etc, theres one by me in Norwood nj

Teds89IROC 01-26-2008 11:19 AM

I dunno, I haven't looked. I figure this way paypal can get involved and do more legal damage like maybe block his account or something.

deadtrend1 01-26-2008 11:20 AM

Sucks man.

I thought I was going to get screwed with my SLP headers off TGO. Just the way the person worded things and kept delaying.

Said he would send me tracking info and never did. Kept saying he didnt have time to get to the post office but i seen he had time to install his new k member, motor, and new headers. And before that, took pictures of the headers I paid for, next to his new ones for comparison and posted them on TGO.

One day I came home from work and there was the box sistting there with the headers just as he described. So maybe it will work out in the end.

I always had good luck on TGO buying from other people. Although I had a similar situation from someone on ebay. I bought a reloading press and was about $500. Well after I won it, I sent payment through paypal. The seller dsaid he would send it out in a day or so. So a week goes by and nothing. I send emails and get no return. I get his info through ebay and call him. No return calls. I filed a claim with paypal. It took nearly a month and a half before I got the press.

i got burnt by an add on racing junk. i sent the money through paypal and after getting the run around for 30 or so days i filed a complaint with paypay just to get the guy to respond as to when i would get my stuff. thats when he started harrassing me with phone calls and emails. well it took about another 30 days but paypal got me all but 20.00 of the 1200.00 i sent him. the twenty was a separate payment for additional shipping required. i took the big $$ and didnt persue the little amount figuring i got what i needed back. paypal doesnt mess around. if you send money for a product then you better get it as described. if not thats fraud and theft and paypal will come after you. what happens first is you file a complaint then paypal freezes the account. if there is money in the account you get it back sooner. if not after the investigation paypal pays you and then they go after the seller with a law suit to collect their money back. this is how it worked for me but not everything might be covered this way. good luck.

I disagree, you were one of the lucky people to get $$ back from paypal. I got burnt on 2 different deals for over $600 combined and paypal didn't do a damn thing. All the guy(s) did was clear the bank account that his paypal was run through. I didn't get a single dime back. They didn't do a damn thing for me and I'm far from the only person with the same story.

Consider yourself lucky.

Teds89IROC 01-27-2008 01:22 AM

I can't find his address through paypal, unfortunately. Unless I'm not searching in the right spot, all I'm getting is his e-mail address and I'm guessing his mother's name. His name on TGO is Donald1992.

In these posts below he says he's from Lancaster. Maybe see if ya can get anything from his mother's name and Lancaster...

i was lucky. i agree. sorry you got burnt. in my case paypal was great but it did take some time. i guess bottom line is buyer be aware as not everyone is honest in this world. it sucks but thats the way it is. i know after my case happened i cut back from buying anywhere but ebay and i even cut back from there since all the scams that are floating around. i still think that paypal is one of the safest ways to pay though other than cash in person.
