Did Clemens use HGH?

seems like it could be the question of the year...
im not sure what i think, but im leaning towards thinking Clemens did take HGH

BonzoHansen 02-13-2008 09:49 PM

Did you inhale?

slasherbarb 02-13-2008 10:02 PM

i think that McNamee is the one lying...here is my reason why...if you watched the hearing today, on of the Senators ripped into McNamee good with a whole list of lies that McNamee told...he went down a whole list and had a few pages left...i think that NcNamee screwed himself, and wants to make sure that if he goes down, he is going down in a blaze of glory...and why not accuse the biggest pitcher of the modern era while you're at it?? Clemens is a health freak, my mom's boss is neighbors with Gene Monahan, then Yankees head trainer, and he said that Clemens was very picky and particular with the way he treated his body...and plus their is no reason to suspect HGH use...no sudden loss of fat and increase in lean muscle, no injuries to warrant the need of a speedy recovery...and the whole abscess on Clemens' ass that they say was caused by a Winstrol injection, is a side effect of any shot...i hope McNamee enjoys prison...

Squirrel 02-14-2008 11:16 AM

if he didnt use, good for him...if he did, good for him. either way he is one of the best players to ever step foot on that field, you dont get that way, 'hey let me do a cycle and ill be an MVP, Cy Young award winner, and world series champ'. if you believe that youre a ****ing moron. steroids get such a bad rap and its a shame, no one ever talks about the positive effects of them, the number 1 thing they supposedly negatively impact is a persons health, but doctors prescribe and use them everyday in practice. if you have your **** together and arent stupid about it, steroids have little to no side effects, and this is coming from a first hand view, i cant see why people believe all this gov't propaganda when a 5'8 160 pound guy talks about steriods like he has a ****ing clue

Clemens is telling the truth I think. If you look at McNamee's evidence, it's silly. He's waiving around some picture of a table with some stuff on it and a needle. How does that prove anything? Any idiot could have taken that picture. It doesnt connect Clemens with anything. I'm sure there's money involved with McNamee handing in that document. However, this doesnt absolve the rest of those juice head cheaters in baseball. Baseball has to be one of the most uneven playing fields in all of professional sports. Selig refuses to acknowledge the problem, refuses to drug test anyone, and the Players Union is run tighter than the Mafia. The Players Union told all of the players that if you speak out against any other player, or admit that steroids are being used, they'll come after you. They even BANNED all players from talking to Congress. Something to hide much? They came after Giambi for saying that roids are a big problem. I love baseball, but I think at this point its like watching the circus, its for entertainment value only. No role models, no athletic dedication and hard work, no honesty, no professionalism. The one and only year that Selig tested people, 2005, they caught everybody. Zambrano TWICE, Palmeiro, Sosa, etc. That was also the year that Bonds was conveniently too hurt to play, but he was there Opening Day the next year now that drug testing was stopped. What a joke. They should just put a giant asterisk on the front door of the Baseball Hall of Fame.

should've had a third choice: do you care? performance enhancers are the "unfair advantage" that everyone is looking for. once they come up with a test for the current drug-of-choice, they will find a new one. if no one was looking for performance in a bottle, no one would invent it. or, if it was invented, no one would use it.

Well, there has to be some way of deterring people from use, otherwise people will be forced to use out of necessity- to keep up with the players that do. Prosecution of those that use is probably a good start.

thank you and john for clearing this up. i didnt want to believe Clemens was using that **** and this just gave me a big reason to believe he was not.

whats the difference???? If he didn't yay for him!!! If he did my condolences to his balls

firehawk1120 02-14-2008 09:13 PM

Don't think he used them because of evidence mentioned above about Mcnamee and all the lies he's already been caught in.

Squirrel I have to disagree on the steroid comment I was on them and there are some serious side effects, racing heart, aggression, poor sleep habits, to name a few. I do know they are used to treat some true medical issues, but to use them for improved performance I agree they have to be used repeatedly for a long time and not just one cycle.

HGH is a Human Growth Hormone that targets accelerated muscle growth, much faster than working out normally. You can buy various forms of it at supliment stores, but its not legal for competition. Steroids and the balls part is because traditional 'roids like Sustinine, D-Ball and the others have a lot of ferimones in them, which is primarily a female hormone. The newer versions of 'roids filter out the ferimones.

I totally agree. Today, you're really just rooting for a logo/jersey.

Yes, but what kind of steriods are you referring to?. I am talking about anabolic, you are talking about medical (catabolic), which actually remove muscle, which is on a completely diffferent spectrum. Were you on these while you were sick? These steriods are administered to get rid of the virus/improve CNS function, not improve overall health, which it usually impairs.

enRo 02-15-2008 01:00 PM

Roger Clemens is a fat mother****er . No matter how much everybody likes him, I believe he took some kind of HGH/Steroid/etc.

I think my opinion got stronger when Andy Petite (who was pretty much attached to Clemens's hip) said that he believes McNamee and his argument. Thats like a low blow to Clemens.

LS1Hawk 02-15-2008 01:05 PM

I don't think there's a problem with the Hall of Fame. They've been pretty good, at least as far as I know, with keeping cheaters out. Pete Rose and Shoeless Joe, two of the greatest hitters of all time, will never get in. McGuire, once thought to be a first ballot HOF'r, still hasn't been voted in. And hopefully Bonds and the rest of them won't. My only gripe with the Hall of Fame is that they've never inducted Roger Maris in.
