Good wax for black
Its getting time to give the car a good detailing just wondering what you guy/girls with black cars use, i want it too look like glass. Also i let someone else detail my car last year(big mistake) and there are buffer marks all over the car, does anyone know of anything to take care of that situation??
Thanks |

You make it sound like so much fun...lol at least i dont have to do the roof:lol: but the hood and trunk lid make up for it |
I've been using Meguiar's Hi-Tech Yellow Wax #26 on my 70 SS396. It looks pretty good, is pretty easy to apply. The car has a 15+ year old paint job and it looks decent. I don't think it lasts as long as it could, but I drive the car almost every week. I know Rich uses something pretty unique on his TA and I may try that out this year. Here's my 70 from this past summer.

I use the the 3 stage Meguire's stuff also the cleaner, polish and wax. I love the stuff makes it look awesome. Only prob is I do all 3 by hand so after a good wash plus those 3 it usually takes me an entire day to do it. Which of course gaurantees that it will rain the following day.

Black Turtle wax, I think its the best stuff out of all the different ones I have tried.

Rich would know best out of the guys I personally know on here, but for a dark car I'd also suggest trying a glaze instead of a wax. It will fill more of the swirl marks and imperfections in the surface that really show up on black.
