What do you do with old magazines?
I've been doing the biannual task of cleaning my room , and am coming across craploads of magazines that have been gotten, read, and tossed on the floor. I'm kinda wondering now... WTF do I do with all of these? Part of me says keep them.... but would I really have a need to go back to a 3 year old car and driver for something? Then I'm thinkig throw them in the recycling... but is there anything else I'm not considering? Donating them somewhere or something? Or am I missing a benefit of holding on to them?

I keep most of mine. You never know when one of the tech articles will come in handy.
|
i cut out whatever pics are worth keeping, and whatever tech i may need, and chuck the rest
|
if you ca hold on to them for 20 years or so, i know people who have gotten good money for vintage magazines.. plus its fun to look back at them and go wow.. that was technology?
|
very true.. i actually only decided to salvage what i could and throw the rest away because...............the rubbermaid storage tote i had in my basement with like 300 superchevy, car craft, chevy high performance, camaro performers, popular hot rodding, etc. started floating and eventually just turned over and filled with water when my basement flooded last year...............floods FTL

For me the biggest PITA flood spot in New Bridge. If you knwo the road, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

hang on to them if you can afford the shelf space. never store magazines on the floor if it can be avoided. nothing worse than a soggy batch of 10 years worth of saving.
|
yea seriously. well my street usually never floods, and the crrate wasnt on the floor it was on a 5 ft shelf, i just happened to get 6 ft of water in my basement

I tend to keep mine, but someone broke into my bathroom and removed the 50 or so mags that were sitting on top of the head. I like to keep the PHR's and HR's for tech articles. 4 years ago, I couldnt imagine me owning a carb'ed car.....
I still have my FIRST issue of Hot Rod mag that I bought when I turned 17 years old. |

Keep some, recycle some. So I couldn't vote.

they go from the customers house, into my recycle bin, then when i dump the truck out, i dump my recycle into the back of the truck and then dump it out with the trash
