Hypothetical Scenario

I saw this on another forum and I thought it was pretty cool. Lets say you were awarded by your favorite auto group (GM, FoMoCo, Chrysler, VW, Toyota, etc...) and offered 5 of their vehicles valued up to $1million at no charge. So lets say you pick VW, you can't take 5 Lambos or Bugattis because of the $1 million dollar cap. Also, be reasonable because you will be paying gas and insurance for these suckers. They must also be in production or slated for production. So no 69 Camaro or Cadillac Sixteens. i'll start:

Daily Driver: Chevy Malibu (09 model with ecotec and 6-speed auto)
Tow Rig: GMC 2500 Diesel
Sports car: Chevy ZR1
Weekend Sports Sedan: Cadillac CTS-V
Trail Dweller: Hummer H3

Mike 03-24-2008 11:07 AM

Daily Driver: solstice gxp
Tow Rig: gmc 3500 dually Diesel
Sports car: Chevy ZR1
Weekend Sports Sedan: g8 gxp
Trail Dweller: no trails for me so ill keep my trailblazer ss

and i would have about 600k left for a nice place to store them

BigAls87Z28 03-24-2008 12:21 PM

Daily: 2009 CTS4 DI FE3
Racecar: 2009 Corvette Z06
Hauler: 2009 Pontiac G8 ST
Fun car: 2009 Saturn Sky RL
Rig: 2009 GMC 2500 Dmax

Camaro will replace 3 out of 5 come next year.

Iroc-z86 03-24-2008 01:34 PM

Daily: 2009-10 Pontiac G8 GXP
Race car: ZR1 or Z06
Tow rig: GMC Sierra 3500
family car..when i get one: 09 Malibu or impala
Fun/nice: 09 CTS-V OR Camaro if its in production...

heres a question..Do you have to spend the complete mil or can you do like cbrrmike and not spend it all?

bubba428 03-24-2008 02:00 PM

I think its just a 1mil cap on the total value of the cars. You get no money

Superformance Coupe - ( Daytone Cobra) - for my mom and dad

These are kit cars, so they are built to order, and there for brand new models, but can be titled as the respective years they were built, meaning no emissions crap!!! infact they have th GT40's down so well, they continue to use to P chassis codes, adn are eligable for the GT40 registry :)

jin1481 03-25-2008 09:57 AM

GM
Z06
Camaro (whatever the top of the line is)
Silverado 2500HD 4dr Cab, short bed, LTZ and Z71 packages
CTS-V
Sky Redline

V 03-25-2008 10:24 AM

GM...
Corvette ZO6
G8
CTS
Corvette ZR1
Corvette base

jims69camaro 03-25-2008 07:41 PM

cadillac CTS-V delivered to Katech Engineering to let them work on it before i get it.
camaro SS/RS Z28 delivered to SLP Performance to let them work on it before i get it.
corvette ZR1 delivered to lingenfelter performance to let them work on it before i get it.
HMMWV
Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited delivered to Jeep Skunkworks to let them work on it before i get it.

hey, with a $1 mill cap, you have to be creative and expect top of the line in everything. if it's not produced on the 'line, then there is a company out there that will do what you want done, without voiding your warranty.

neither is the humvee... well, ok, so i colored outside the lines for one. er, two. it's just that GM doesn't have anything i like that compare to the jeep or the humvee. notice it's the humvee, the original, not a hummer imitation.

BigAls87Z28 03-26-2008 08:22 AM

AM General is owned by GM. The original Hummer is no longer available unless you work for Uncle Sam.

'08 cadillac CTS-V delivered to Katech Engineering to let them work on it before i get it.
'09 camaro SS/RS Z28 delivered to SLP Performance to let them work on it before i get it.
'08 corvette ZR1 delivered to lingenfelter performance to let them work on it before i get it.
2004 (last year produced, military doesn't need any "new" ones) M1038 A M General HMMWV Humvee- 4 man soft top, available at auction for $38,000
'07 Chevy Silverado Duramax Diesel 3500HD - running on bio-diesel (still found on dealer lots, believe it or not)
