So i went to a pontac dealership today to pick up some brake/clutch fluid and noticed they had a nw G8 in there. i was checking it out price was $31xxx w/a 2500 dealer markup already in the price... soo the salesman gets out of the car (in the showroom) says go ahead and sit in it, i said thats ok just looking at it...he said ill get you out of the 4runner and into this, i said i have aTA at home and hes says "Oh this will spank that" i laughed and said " i dont think so" :)

that gave me a good laugh the rest of the day and im still laughing about it....idiot doesnt realize its gonna be a mid-high 13sec family car :)

I went with my son to Miller Pontiac to take a road test in the G8 GT. They got in 3 and this was the last one not sold. It was 1 of the 888 in Met. Gray. All I can say is IT WAS AWESOME!!!!:drool: The interior is first rate, the trunk was huge, the ride was solid and the power came on like a raped ape. Very impressive car and well worth money. They were asking sticker price(without any extra mark-up). My son wants a Red with the two-tone black and red leather interior and the 19" wheels with the performance package. I am going to hate him if he gets it. The only complaint is that the exhaust note is rather quiet but I assume BORLA will fix that. The car is really a 4 door GTO and with the price around $32,000, it is really worth more than that. :lol:

I go to Barlow a lot for random parts... I usually drive my WS6 when I go, and some tool was trying to tell me a Grand Prix GT would kill my car. Prolly the same ballbag.

Guy at Brogan cadallac told me the CTS-V i was looking at would spank my brothers 07 Z06. And my dumbass mistakenly gave him my contact info, i get a call every 3-4 days for the last month...

The same thing happened with me, well kinda. I was car shopping with a friend of mine that's in college, she was looking for something cheap and economical. So we went looking at the Cobalts. Obviously she wasn't looking for the SS but naturally the salesman steered her that way. They had it parked near a nice WS6. I made the comment about how I missed my Z...out come the comment about how this SS would have beat it. I laughed and said right, whatever you say. I said let me guess, it'd beat my vette too...so he goes on about how he took it out on a test drive and beat a C6 blah blah blah. I wasn't insulted or anything but some people need to get a clue. Either A) He was truly that clueless or B) He'd say anything to impress a potential customer and get the sale.

The ironic thing is she had no interest in anything more than the base model, the SS wasn't even a slight consideration. Oh well, I still think it should be legal to kill stupid people.

Its amazing how clueless those dealers are, mostly about performance oriented cars. I seem to get snappy w/ them because there bothersome if your just looking at something. When the LS1 was still new I was looking at a SS. The dealer said "theres a Ls1 in there". My reply was "no ****" kinda sarcastically...didnt mean it to sound that way but I guess I kinda sounded like a ass...o well lol

I went car shopping with my girlfriend once and she got mad at me because I was mean to the salesman :lol:

i loved having cutomers that were mean to me cause then i look at my comission sheet and :lol:

Anytime I'm at a dealer with someone looking for a car, I make sure the salesman knows right away that I most likely know more about what I'm looking at than he does. Usually they will back off at that point, but I've dealt with one or two like the guy mentioned here.

when i sold cars i made it a point to know what was in the cars i sold. i would never embarass myself by making a false statement. you never know who you are talking to, and some car salesmen talk their way right out of the sale...

check out LS1tech.com they have a new section for the G8 and theres some pretty good dealer stories on there, everyone seems to love the car too! also saw a member form here ordered one....:)

I really think Pontiac hit a home run with this car.
