funny story involving my brothers KIA

So my brother and I are in his kia, heading north on Delsea drive, on our way to taco bell (just past the texas roadhouse where we meet) when some puerto rican kid in a lowered/tinted/wheels/CAI/stereo system early to mid 90s honda accord wagon pulls up next to us at a red light. i kinda figured the dumb ricer was going to try something because thats what ricers do.

my brother wasnt going to do anything, so the ricer floors it. my bro started to take off normal, but then punched it. we pull on the accord, and im laughing hysterically. i think we just got into 2nd gear, and the next light is red. im slapping my knee laughing so loud. the Puerto rican fellow was pissed. he was like "do you think thats f'ing funny??" i replied, "I think its f'ing hilarious! You just got walked on by a stock kia!!" then he replied back by saying "looking at your cracker asses makes me laugh" once again, I reminded him that he got beat by a stock kia. Then my brother told him he needed a bigger exhaust tip. and the light turned green and we went to taco bell. as he was driving away, i noticed that jose waved his middle finger out the window until he was out of sight. By the way, Jose's girlfriend was in the car with him too. Nothing says humiliation like getting beat by a stock kia with a bike rack w/ bike while your girl watches it happen :D

I hate to admit it but after having a loaner car for a week and playing with a few ricers going to and from work..
It is a lot more entertaining and unpredictable than the slaughter the LS-1's usually do..

Ya im ashamed at my fellow Puerto Ricans who go to the dark side. The older Puerto Ricans LOVE muscle cars. For some reason its the younger crowd that just cant stay away from the damn honduhs. i dont get it. ive turned a few of my fellow ricans slowly but surely away from hondas and into muscle cars. but some of them are just in too deep lol. there's no saving them. i gotta say though, ive come very close to punching some ricans and even dominicans for havint the balls to tell me that im not puerto rican cuz i drive a "hick" mobile. Mind you, half of their uncles n **** have a malibu or some old muscle car. idiots.

I dont get it either man but the young Ricans LOVE the Hondas. I used to live in Perth Amboy and all the 23 and under crowd rock Hondas. The "Old" school Ricans have 1.8 Corollas as DD's and G bodies as their "Cars". Malibu's, Monte's, Cutlass's... Big block springs up front and station wagon or old Caddy springs in back, built 350's or BB's and a CLEAN paint job. That or old muscle cars. Not like it was when I was growing up.

Its those damn F&F movies. I work with many puerto rican guys at my work. the youngin's all have the same thing, an import car with exhaust tip and rims. but the older guys I have respect for. One guy I work with used to own a 74 Camaro worked a little, and one guy I work with who's like 50, always asks for my input on what he should do to his toyota engine. Ive given him a few pointers, he's done it, and he says his car has been greatly improved.

I think the attraction might start closer to home. Whenever I see facebook albums of old friends of mine in PR at the track in PR, its always filled with imports and bikes. Only every once in a while will I see a new mustang or an old muscle car. And I remember back when I was living there, it was a pretty rare occurance to see/hear a V8 car out in the streets. Most cars out on the street were the small economical type. This was maybe 10 years ago, not sure if anything's changed. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v486/dizzygn/usa3.gif

i agree with everything jeff (Blacdout96) said. i really cant remember seeing too many ricer kids until F&F movies came out.

It hasn't changed. The big thing down there is Evo's & Riced Mirages.

Savage_Messiah 04-20-2008 11:53 PM

We need to hit up Salinas Speedway and show em all how its done..... that'd be badass.... ship our cars over, go down for a week or two...

chrisfrom nj 04-21-2008 07:33 AM

that was funny getting beat by a stock kia

bandit88 04-21-2008 10:50 AM

did he have a lot of stickers on the car???? cause you know its like 5 hp for each one

JerzyIroc 04-21-2008 05:58 PM

well see its different in puerto rico. the older crowd thats into imports isnt really into the hondas. they're into the old school toyotas datsuns and really into the mazda and rotaries. And they're not riced out for the most part. Maybe some of the toyotas but for the most part they arent. There arent too many newer muscle cars there but the old school stuff theres still tons of them out there. last time i went to pr i went to both salinas and ponce. there was a big number of muscle cars there. they do have the Pan American Nationals every year in Puerto Rico and in Atco. Its always a great event. I think itll be cool if we can get a bunch of us to the one in atco. im definatly going.

btw anyone ever see the video of the hyundia from PR smoke Turbo Trix evo??
