How about a week from hell?
Anybody catch the new last night?
The house my dad had bought, and Him and I put may weekends into to make it nice, was burned last night. The Atlantic City Arson Investigators were there and we're waiting to hear back about that. All the time and money that went into that house, so he could rent it out. I spent days in there taking out rugs covered in animal feces, cleaning the vents of feces, painting, laying new floor in the kitchen and installing very nice kitchen. Something needs to be done about Atlantic city, and I'm just going to leave it at that. On top off all that and the accident, my grandmother got rushed to hospital yesterday morning for chest pains, and my aunt lost her job for calling out. |
Reading this post makes my head hurt but i'm sorry to hear about all your misfortune dude

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. That really, really sucks. I hope he had a good insurance plan!
Rental properties can be funny like that. My parents used to rent out a place in Seaside back in the mid 80s-early 90s. It was always to families for weeks at a time but it was still left pretty filthy when we went to clean it after each guest. |

the thing is, he JUST got it. We just got through cleaning it and the fist tenants were supposed to move in in a week or 2 I believe. Never got a chance to rent it. Now I know from being in there, everything was sound. There was NO electrical, or gas fire hazards in there. Somebody broke in(not the 1st time) and set it on fire. you can see in the upstairs windows were they blew out from the heat. If you go on nbc40.net its the 1st story in the scroll column to the right. The kitchen is gone, the pergo floors are torched...I can't imagine there being anything left but walls. its a concrete building so it must have burned like an oven.

sorry bubba
|
holy **** man... that's horrible. sorry to hear.

It'll work out eventually. I'm really only posting this cause my phone broke and I lost all my contacts, been stuck at home alone for 3 days. just trying to not go nuts lol. but hey, last time there was a ****storm I got a pretty sweet job....so maybe its a sign???
I just got a call from my dad. the only think left is the floors and outer walls. the inner walls are gone, its a concrete building so the only thing thats left is the concrete. the door was kicked in and the tenants are nowhere to be found. they moved in 3 weeks ago. |

as an aside, AC used to be a beautiful city. it was THE place to pass the summer months, and some of my family decided to stay there year round. they've all passed on now, so no family remains in AC. i think if they were still alive, they would've moved out when the casinos moved in. p.s. bubba: did you happen to take any pictures/video of the improvements? that sure goes a long way in explaining things to the insurance company... |
