I was thinking the same thing....never seen a set on a 4th gen before.

i always wanted a 78-82 vette and stick sidepipes on it. i don't see any tips out the rear so i say functional.

NastyEllEssWon 06-22-2008 09:44 PM

its a nice car. i dont understand why i see all the hating on other fbodies. the exhaust is nice and big deal it has tires that stick out....i bet that thing hauls
pipes might be functional as it has no rear outlets and i dont see anything suggesting otherwise.

WildBillyT 06-22-2008 10:07 PM

If they are functional then that's really, really impressive.

Yea, without seeing any shots from underneath I would assume fake sidepipes and dumps under the car. But who knows.....

SamhainZ28 06-22-2008 11:31 PM

nj96z28 06-23-2008 05:09 AM

Those are real Hooker Sidemount headers. They are not cheap.

I think they are fake because the chrome ones tend to "blue" on the primary tubes near the front of the car, unless you take very good care of them.

Those could be C3 vette ones adapted for use. They also make them for 67-69 Camaros, and they used to be in production for 70-73's. 2nd gen Hooker sidemounts are considered the Holy Grail of 2nd Gen exhausts from what I remember. I've seen mint ones sell for $2500.

Featherburner 06-23-2008 02:01 PM

Sweet, an 80's tribute car.

Untamed 06-23-2008 02:28 PM

Don't like the side pipes or the extra wide wheels. After market wheels and lowered springs freshen up the car just fine.

79dizZy28 06-23-2008 06:10 PM

Joe Dirt would never rock altezza's  Joe Dirt's actual car, the GTX 'vert was actually pretty sexy.

SteveR 06-23-2008 06:16 PM

nice. I always liked the sidepipes on 2nd gens. And yes, they are pretty expensive. The Hooker sidepipes for a 2nd gen are like $1200.

LTb1ow 06-23-2008 06:56 PM

if only Jerz let me be that creative with my tires and exhaust.....

procamaroz28 06-23-2008 07:11 PM

bac wheels is definatly overdoing it but i kinda like the exhaust... wonder how it sounds

straight6 06-24-2008 02:14 PM

had me at hello til i saw the taillights

band77one 06-24-2008 09:09 PM

the guy looks like joe dirt. i think if the tires were tucked under more that car would look awesome..btw those lights gotta go.

Demonicbird00 06-27-2008 02:17 PM

if it werent for the wheels id say nice, and i think the exhaust is functional i looks black iside the tail pipe

bubba428 06-28-2008 12:04 PM

You- 3rd gen

You- Firebird

You- Flat black paint

Him- LS1
You- Carb'd 350

bubba428 06-28-2008 10:11 PM

i went over the 2 things already.....retrofitted headers and rear tires that pop out of the wells

xrelapse13 07-11-2008 02:04 PM

I think the side pipes are functional, it looks liek they're attached to the headers. Back wheels are wtf though
