new verizon phone

OK, I'm eligible for a new phone on the 12th of July. I need to know what is a good phone and what is crap. I have verizon I'm sticking with verizon so any suggestions to switch just proves you have no purpose in life so move along.

Let's see who the first idiot is to suggest an AT&T plan because I know with the mental midgets on here it's bound to happen because they think they are funny.

so i have the vx8300 crappy flip phone. I'm not sure if I want to dish out close to $200 bucks for a dare or a glyde, or if I want to bump up to a treo or something along that line which I can use for work.

Any real help would be appreciated.

ShitOnWheels 06-30-2008 09:36 PM

AT&T. I made the switch. :) (jk lol)

I dunno what's good. I love my tilt...but the Verizon version is $300, and probably watered down.

I just got the Voyager, love it. I was deciding between the iphone or Voyager, and I decided Voyager because warrenty/insurance covers everything. Plus it does everything I need a phone to do, eso with the microSD expandable memory card.

I'm not a big fan of Motorola phones, they seem to take a dump on everyone after a while.
I picked up a blackberry Curve today.. It suits my purpose

Jeanne-Marie is planning on getting the EnV2, she's eligible the 10th I believe. We looked at the phone the other day. Its really nice and has I think it was almost double the battery life as the voyager, both while in use and just turned on. I got the Samsung Alias a couple of months ago and I still love it.

yea, I got my first Motocrap phone last year I think it was and its total crap. I think its the RAZR Max Ve or something. It was a $400 pile of poop.

BigAls87Z28 06-30-2008 10:11 PM

Im not a fan of the Kzr...but it looked so cool. The battery keeps craping out on me now.

I like the look of the Moto's, I just wish it didnt lag as much.
Im due for a new one around Christmas time. Hopefully I will have some cool stuff to pick from and a 200 dollar limit to get one. The Voyager is massive. I have noticed that my phones keep getting bigger and bigger.
EnV 2 is small, but not liking the whole set up there....dunno. I am gunna look at LG as I have had 2 previous ones, and they were awesome.

I second AT&T :)

I got one of these for play:

It's like a week old.... free.... and it gets dirty easily

And this one for work:

I've had 11 Motorola Phones.....and none of them have crapped out on me...granted they've all been AT&T/Cingular. My 4 RAZRs, 1 L2, and 1 L6 have, on more than one occasion, survived being thrown out of a moving vehicle at highway speed.

I know the Verizon version of Motorola phones are crap....but I think it's the software that Verizon demand to be put on the phones, honestly...

Gene, for the business you're in, I'd recommend either a Palm Treo or Blackberry

the new chocolate is very nice as well. i've had mine since september and its been great. it can be had for less than most other phones and looks very sharp. the buttons can be annoying though.

my buddy just got the env2 though, its much better. battery life is incredible and the features are great. its a little heavy though...

so what you're saying is....you envy his.......ENV2....?

BigAls87Z28 06-30-2008 10:35 PM

The old Env was a brick. I want to try to get something that slides, something that is very small when not in use, but look cool.
Ted, I looked at the Alias for my brother Joey, but one look at how that thing swings open either way I knew that he was just gunna break that off on something.
I ended up getting him a cherry Chocolate, and so far so good.

on thursday (july 3rd) verizon is coming out with the "dare". Its similar to the voyager but smaller. Its supposed to be comparible to apples new Iphone thats coming out in a few weeks or so.

maroman88 06-30-2008 11:14 PM

all ive ever had was t-mobile and nokia, i use my phone for text, pics and talking, thats its! i dont need no BS music and internet crap. i pay $40 a month for 500 minutes, free nights and weekends and unlimited texts...... my GF always has such problems with verizon, between the morons at the store and gettin raped with bills...

firehawk1120 07-01-2008 05:11 AM

well with verizon's new 99 call anyone plan I'll be paying as much as I do now on there 59.99 plan with all the damn texting people do to me I end up paying like 20 in fees so I'll be getting the same company at the same price but with unlimited calls and text.

Not blaming verizon for my bill either I could have opted to pay 10 bucks for unlimited text, but never thought it would get this bad. And I've never had a problem with the service. I get calls when other people say their phone is crapping out.

I need to go to the store and look at the phone sizes too, but I'm thinking boon is right with the treo. I can use that to store client info, attorney names, and I can use it as my key to get into houses as a realtor so it would mean one less thing I have to carry around when I'm with clients.

BUT, it means I have to pay more to the MLS service for not using their equipment I get bent over no matter what.

lastcall190 07-01-2008 06:06 AM

I gave my old VXsomethingorother to a coworker to use because their samsung **** the sheets, it suited me well. My friend sold be a BB World and I activated it and added data to my plan. I don't need a phone with all sorts of fancy picture, video, music capabilities. I'd rather have a browser/email/etc.

i have the latest chocolate, i got it in december, pretty sure i broke it last night..

madness410 07-01-2008 10:45 AM

my girlfriend has the voyager and its ok, nothing spectacular. she says she has ALL these things that she can do with the phone, but never uses. The battery dies all the time. She has already had to send it back twice to get a new one because it broke.

No complaints here. Excellent battery life and does everything I need it to. I've had Verizon for years and still one of the best companies I've used. I hardly ever have a dead spot.

its Jeanne-Marie 07-01-2008 08:25 PM

as ted said im pretty sure im getting the enV2 next thursday, it seems like good times.

i got my white chocolate when they first came out and it's been good to me, and from what i understand the new ones are better and right now are only $30 after rebate. i recently put my phone through a cycle in the washing machine by accident and after letting it dry out for a day it's still going strong!
