Low Coolant Light

The low coolant light comes on every once in a while in my car. The fluid level is correct in the reservoir and I know the rad is full. If I shut the car off and start her back up the light goes away, but will come back on about a week later. Level still full and no leaks in sight. Probably just a faulty sensor? I think I may have heard that this was an issue on 4th gens. Anyone else get this?

Coolant level sensor should be pretty cheap, but next time you are parked on level ground and the car is cool, double check the fluid level in the radiator anyway. Only takes a few seconds....

Worst case, cut it out. Its not hooked up into you PCM, just a lijght.

very common 4th gen issue.

Try to pull it out and clean it. If that doesn't work replace or unplug it. I like everything to work the way its supposed to so I would replace it.

Its a hit or miss, try to drive around with it for awhile. When I changed fluids it came on and then went off after a while of driving. And like I said before, it does not hook into the computer so you can worst case just disconnect it.

If everything is fine and dandy, just unplug it. If you do not know how, you can go to shoebox's website it tells you how to do it.
