Sad News :(

My mom had to have our cat put down yesterday. She'd been sick for a while, but was showing improvement with antibiotics. The vet thinks she had some form of kidney or bladder cancer, because for the last year she's been having a hard time finding the litter box. She was an old cat, I think she may have just turned 17 this month. It hasn't hit me that hard yet because I don't live there, but it's still very sad. RIP Sissy

She's the one in the front. Imagine that plump cat plummeting down to 5 lbs :(

Very sorry to hear :( 17 years is a long time, and I'm sure she had a very good life.

yeah, our cats have always lived a long time, i think the last one before her was 15. the orange one in the picture lives with me, so now my parents only have the grey guy, Gizmo. He's never been a people-cat, but maybe now that he's by himself he will be. It's very sad, she was a very good cat, never any health problems or emergency vet visits, just routine maintenance i suppose.

Sometimes we mourn our pets more than some of our relatives! They usually live to PLEASE US, rather then the other way around. EVERYDAY they are thrilled:fluffy: to see us, betcha can't think of of too many people with the same attitude.

Sorry for the loss. I just put my dog down and its like loosing a member of the family. Our pets always give us love.

I'm sorry to hear this...I don't want to deal with this with mine....even the bad times are eclipsed when you remember all the fun you had with them.

thats what she was by the time we had to do it. she was probably 7 lbs last time i saw her. She was almost put down about 2 months ago, but when she showed improvement my mom brought her home. I went and visited her a few times after that. Mom said she lost 2 lbs in a few weeks and it just wasnt good :(

Thanks for all the kind words
