PA Sonics woot woot !!

Quote:

Sonic, known for its 168,000 drink combinations and its carside service, will open its first location in Bucks County next week, on Street Road in Bensalem near the Texas Roadhouse. For years, the fast food chain has tempted Philadelphia fans with TV commercials. But the closest Sonic is in Limerick. The Bensalem Sonic opens Tuesday; a second is planned in Levittown for later this year.
Oh yes, new cruise location for me WOOT WOOT....

For those not square on distance, Levittown is like 10-15 min into PA from the Rt 1 bridge area....now Scott and BTK and Scooter (and the rest of you 'west central' fellas can hang here :)

I made a post about sonics in Waretown, NJ a few months ago and some one on here told me that a person they knew already bought the rights for franchising in the Somerville or Bridgewater area. Does anyone know if that is still true?

Also, in case you didn't know, there are a few Sonics located throughout PA. I go to two of them located in the Lancaster area, one of them being in Ephrata.

I swear if I ever had the money to franchise a Sonics and someone would go in with me on the project, I am certain that we'd be rich in no time. The one on Waretown is doing fantastic and the parking bays are always packed. I have a few ideas in mind myself for locations that would get a crap load of people. Of course I would never tell unless some one wanted in on the idea.

Sonics is a drive-in, drive-through, and outdoor sitdown fast food restaurant. Nothing indoors. They specialize in many different drink combos like slushes, cream slushes, cream pie shakes, smoothies, root beer floats, etc, with many flavors. There are also many other deserts that no other fastfood restaurant has. Even though they are known for their drinks, they offers burgers, hotdogs, breakfast burrittos (I recommend them), and interesting sides like caramel apple bites, cheesecake bites, and other things. It is setup like a drive-in restaurant like in the good ol' days. The one in Waretown, NJ gets super packed. I went there with friends 5 weekends ago and we had to wait about 10 mins for a parking spot to open where we could place our order. I met the owner by chance when I needed extra utensils and there were no waitresses on rollerskates around. Nice guy and nice kids that work there. I'd wish him luck with it all, but I don't think he needs it.

I got an email from a spokeswoman 2 months ago telling me that they are planning on building future locations in Somerset and Middlesex counties. They'd probably clean up really well down by the NJ shores.

Anyway, they are more prevalent down south and in the mid-far west. They do that with fastfood chains primarily because it is less expensive to open franchises where the land isn't as costly so the Sonics rep told me. That would explain why we are missing Jack-in-the-box restaurants.

I wish we also had more Chic-fil-A and Bahama Breeze restaurants in NJ too. Florida and California has all or most of the best fastfood eateries.

But we have White Castle...

redbanditZ28 08-22-2008 02:45 AM

That is true, if you can stomach it. lol.
For whatever reason the only fastfood joints I don't get sick from are Tacobell, Chic-fil-a, and Sonics. BK, McD, and Wendys, and most other burger joints make me sick.

WE ? More like YOU....and YOU can keep it....

Dude - me and the wife went to the one that was over at Franklin Mills.....we got SO sick from that place that I swore off ANYTHING White Castle...

I've been staying away from McD's for months now....and almost that long for BK (at least the salad on the burgers is fresh).

Taco bell has been it for me....in the interim....but I can't wait for Sonic. I sampled them in Ark/Tx and misses it.

McDs is the worst of the worst as far as I'm concerned. I can eat damn near anything and it is one of the few things that gets me sick just about every time. I'll only eat there if it's the only thing around.

Sonic is top tier... I just wish one was opened up more near me.

You are a fool. Mickey D's FTW. Egg McMuffin = breakfast perfection.

I likes me some good Rat. Like Stallone in Demolition Man I guess.

I'd prefer to eat the animal than their droppings, which we all know to be the secret ingredient in McD's burgers.

BonzoHansen 08-22-2008 01:51 PM

Bah!
