4 post lift

does anyone from NNJ area have or use a 4 post lift? A portable one? I am thinking of buying one, so sick of jacking the damn car up and crawling under it...

Yeah, my dad has a Superior/Superlifts SR-7H. Really nice but dangerous if you are tall LOL.

We use a 4 post that is portable, and its been the best tool we have bought for the place. We never bolted it to the floor, because it came with the rollers to move it around, and ended up moving it quite a bit. They are definitely worth every penny to buy one.

You just need a tall garage, I think ten foot?

Depends on what you want to put on it, and how high you want it to go.

LTb1ow 08-25-2008 01:41 PM

I no electric garage door opener, but again, I guess that depends on how high you wanna go with it.

sweetbmxrider 08-25-2008 02:59 PM

IMO 2 posts are better for working, 4 posts are better for storage.

oh definitely. but for something at a house, i would think a 4 post would be nice especially if you want something portable. i am used to center lifts though. old school compared to whats out there now.

Most of them also work off of a 115V 15A outlet. Most (if not all) of the 2 posters I've seen work off of 220V 30A outlets. And then there's the bolting down deal, which kinda sucks.

bad64chevelle 08-25-2008 04:01 PM

we have supports at 14 ft high, and a normal garage door (no elec) that sits at 12ft high. To put my truck up in the air I have to close the door which kills the air flow of the barn
