Tips to prep for dyno tune?
Getting a re-tune on my LS6 T/A monday, Chris(NJTorque) and Larry(SamhainRS27) had theirs today and I'm getting psyched up now! It has a tune in it but I think it has a little more left in it. It's currently at 385rwhp/381rwtq and the original owner Matt, an employee at New Era Performance in NY said they just put a 1 run basic tune in it for me.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any tips to prep for the tune. I changed the plugs(after filling up a Swear Jar:mrgreen:) & cleaned the K+N, but what else, if anything, should I do? I just want to make sure the car's running PERFECT when it gets done. |
Whens the last time you did an oil change?

Amsoil is the ****... in the name of saving a few bucks and not going nuts trying to find a place that actually STOCKS the damn stuff, I am on a Pennzoil Platinum kick... try it out. Have no consumption thus far even with my cam. I'm gonna try some RP 5-30 next time.
As to prep? I would personally just change the oil... how many miles are on what you've got in there? Plug change is cheap, check the plug wires for hairline cracks, trans fluid if you're real picky. How old are your 02s? If you're noticing a trend, it's that most of the stuff costs money hahahah... Not much for free, especially maintenance. Good luck! -J |
Make sure you have the grade of gas in it you'll be running so that it matches the tune.

Thanks guys, I actually got the tune done today...I'll be posting up the results in a new thread shortly.
